Remember the Ouya? The little console that couldn't? Well Ouya CEO Julie Uhrman revealed only 27% of Ouya owners have actually bought a gaem AKA 73% of Ouya owners haven't bought a gaem.

Maybe people were just talking the Ouya's slogan of #freethegaems a bit too literally. Or more likely there's not much worth buying.

I have purchased five pieces of software and plan to purchase more when they fix the damn storage situation!!! It does not encourages me to buy more games when I keep getting a damn message telling me that I have too many games on the console.

Nice going...so 73% of the audience just bought it because it goes well with the furniture? :P

On a more serious note: what are the amount of 'sales' (read: downloads) of the free games and emulators?

EDIT: out of curiosity: exactly how can you pay for games? Is it just on credit cards, or do they accept online transations, paypal and the lot as well?

(kind of likewise: I haven't bought a single game for my xperia play because they want me to have a credit card. Nice...but it's not going to happen. I'll wait until they accept paypal).

Let's clear some things up right now. Those of us who own OUYA consoles know that Android sticks exist. We CHOOSE the OUYA because it's simply better hardware. Secondly, to purchase Ouya games, you have a choice between using your credit/debit card or buying prepaid cards from retailers that sell Ouya consoles.

Your dual core stick that relies on power from the TV compared to my QUAD core Tegra 3 console that runs off of unlimited AC meaning that devs can push it to its limits... just saying.

So in that sense you should of just saved up for a Nvidea shield

Shield is over priced and does not appeal to me. I buy things that I like, not what YOU think makes snese. Besides, you're talking to the co-host of a weekly Ouya YouTube show, do you honestly think that I'm going to ditch my OUYA??? LMAO

No one really said you had to LMAO, but fyi I plan on buying one some day just sayin the ouya isnt all that great

I thought everything was supposed to be free on the console?

Freemium, mostly (did I even use that word right? totally pulled it out of my ass. I don't even care).

But having a demo counts as free. A person has to be able to play the game in some form without spending money. No one said they have to give people the whole game.
It's actually kind of a nice system. No blind purchases. I think every console should employ this somehow, but obviously that's a bit of a pain in the ass. Oh well.
