Not sure if this is the right section -- I don't think there would be one for this question -- has it ever been possible to get small games like NSMBW (0.38GB scrubbed IIRC) installed directly to the Wii NAND, considering it has 512mb of flash memory? I know this seems like a stupid question, just curious.

NO is't to large.
Installed files have a max of 45 mb if I am not mistaken.
So ~380mb is impossible.
Fyi this is;nt the smallest Wii game if you were wondering.

Waninkoko once installed a very tiny Wii Disc game as a channel POC.

As for individual file size limit in the Wii FS, a game is made of many files not 1 single file.

Thanks for reminding me :D

I was going to LIKE your post but I didn't want to spoil you 666 likes

Back OT, this can be done but to most people it would be pointless because of the size limitations. There are many, many games that could fit in the half gig without much convincing and other that would require IOS to run a modded game so files could be replaced with smaller substitutes and un-needed files removed.

I don't think it's a "stupid question" Saturosias, I'm curious though if you are intending on doing anything yourself.
Using a game like NSMB you could do more than just add the game, and play about with the option of having several versions sharing some files and having separate files for other things. But even if one person was to do one game and document it, imho it would be very interesting.
