I bought a steam game and It doesn't run that good on my pc can I trade it or sell it?
Unfortunately, no. Once you run a game, it becomes yours. Unless you live in Germany, and they win their lawsuit, you can't trade your games.

If it is your only game on that account, you can try selling it to a friend (since that's not allowed here). Otherwise, I (legally) just recommend checking out system requirements beforehand or demos.

Nope. Steam TOS (the one you were supposed to read when you opened the Steam account) clearly states that the game is registered to your account permanently, except Germany (I think, basically lawsuit that legalize selling used digital game).

I believe they just went to court recently, so it won't be legal until it after it ends, assuming that Germany wins, and if they do, it'll probably not be until at least next fiscal year.

You can mail it to me; I won't trade you anything for it, and you shouldn't charge shipping either. That way, you can get rid of it without trading or selling it. But, if I were you, I'd hold on to it. I mean, you're not supposed to get rid of stuff you bought; it can disappear, but it shouldn't be your fault.

which is against the tos and can result in an account ban
he just asking to sell
against something isn't my/anybody concern

again... I've seen lot's of people doing it anyway.
1 thing for sure is prepare for everything including switching email for account you sell.

the idea is about the same with giving account to someone for free, I've done lot's of time giving someone account with dota2 with it.
give them account detail and email detail.
done.

I remember buying a game that coudn't run on my computer, despite filling minimal requirements (Ghost Master). I contacted Steam and they gave me a refund in my Steam Wallet.
It was during my first Steam days... Now my account is full with tens of games that I haven't launched once...

I remember that. Or something similar. But don't be one of those guys, who sues/gets refunds for everything. Those guys are dicks.

Yup, they made me feel like a "dick" when they answered me, now there's no way I would beg for a return like that

You've never known anyone who would go to a store that buys games, plays the whole game, then returns them for a full amount? That's worse than piracy, because that's premeditated dickishness.

If you meet minimum requirements, don't have a ton of background applications running, tried minimum settings and resolution, and still can't get the game to work, then I think that's fine to try and get a refund for. But you know there are people out there that do stupid things like trying to play at 1080p on a crappy computer, and they ruin it for everyone else.

What game is it? What processor and graphics card do you have? And how much RAM? I'm curious now.

I see another person fell victim to the Steam Sale and gave into the wrong deal. I personally bought a game I can't run, but at least I'm only out $3 until I get a computer that has an actual graphics card, or, you know, any laptop with a chip set much newer than mine would work too. Another game disagrees with my chip set too, but that's for entirely bypassable reasons (I'm looking at you, The Witcher Enhanced). Regardless, you are stuck with your bad decision. It's one of the consequences of digital purchasing.

Though, do go ahead and toss out your specs and the game that isn't running well. If you believed it should have run at moderate settings okay, there's likely someone here who can either help you, or confirm that you made a bad purchase.

Your computer failed to run a $3 game? Damn, it must be made of stone.
