According to a local ad listing for Canadians, you guys will be able to pick up your Black and Black 3DS XL on Friday, July 26, for 179.97. You lucky bastards. Nintendo of America is also teasing it by demonstrating a commercial for Mario and Luigi Dream Team, featuring a 3DS XL in that color. (Thanks EvilMakiPR)

A commercial for Mario & Luigi: Dream team, currently airing on Cartoon Network in North America, features an all-black 3DS XL. Though still not official confirmation from Nintendo, this is the next best thing. The last time a Nintendo ad featured a new style of system (the Pikachu 3DS XL in a Pokemon Mystery Dungeon ad), the new version was announced shortly after.

Yeah, I'm actually hesitating about this myself, considering my retailer just got back and said he might be able to spare me a Gateway unit for review.

But seriously, July 26th? We should get someone to buy it and check the firmware for us. I highly doubt it'd be Gateway-compatible, since I know Nintendo has been following their development, but who knows.

Dude, I have a long waiting list for possible people who want a Gateway unit. I was due for two, but as retailers are pretty blind about it, well, scratch that idea. :/

Look, I honestly don't care about color revisions. It doesn't affect the games you play in any way, so what's the big deal.

You can be my handheld, it don't matter if you're black or, let's say, white.

Er, since when was plain black exciting? I only got my 3DS black because skins look better applied onto a black background.

Plus its an XL, so that's a turn off. Not quite old enough to require an XL yet.

Honestly piano black is pretty sexy. But the XL is matte, so all colors look less impressive on it
Only the special editions look cool.
