Hi,

Buying a 3ds XL for my son. I browsed slickdeals and see that they have been discounted in the past, but was wondering how often that happens. I'd like to buy one in the next 2 weeks and was wondering if it is even worth waiting.

Thanks in advance.

As with most things related to consoles, very rarely.

So I guess I should have been more specific. I'd just like to get a regular 3ds XL with no games. He just plays mario on his DSi so I wanted an upgrade. I see that I can get one for $200 today.

they go down to $160 atleast a few times a year, but there's no telling if it'll happen in the next two weeks by november for sure though.
other smaller deals like free game or $20 gift card usually come up about once a month though.

Your next bet at a good discount would be black friday other than that maybe a few random sales that might appear but it looks like black friday will be the big one.

Cowboom sells used ones for $135 if you're interested.
I bought one from CowBoom for $134.99 recently. It was a great buy because it was in great working condition and the inside of the unit looked like new. The only thing wrong with it was the top of the unit had a somewhat deep scuff that was only on a very small part of the outside shell of the top screen. If cosmetic blemishes don't bother you or whoever you are buying it for then I would easily recommend getting a used one and putting that money towards games. Also, mine came with an older firmware that was capable of running the soon to be released Gateway 3DS. I upgraded it since then, just thought I would mention it though.

Thank you all for the great advice. I bought one from Cowboom which was a grade 5 for 134.99. It was a grade 5, which I guess is one of their better preserved models.

BTW, what is Gateway 3DS?
