As an experiment I tried to create a game using HTML5 to play in the Wii U's webbrowser. Bluball uses the gamepads gyroscope for precise movement of the ball. There are 15 levels to conquer and over 50 stars to collect.

I'm aware that the framerate is quite low and there's no sound, both are problems of the Wii U browser which I hope Nintendo will update in the future.

Simply point your Wii U's browser to http://bluball.kenney.nl or click the link below:

Nah, I feel the games concept works great as an experiment for the Wii U but would just fall flat when selling it on mobile.

Its a $25 USD fee to publish on Google Play, sell the app for $0.99. Worst case, you lose $25 and some time. It's well worth the risk IMO.

I think you under estimate yourself.

I always do ;)

I'm actually already a mobile developer for all mobile devices, there are just better concepts in the pipeline and this isn't one of them. This is purely made to test the Wii U's capabilities.

If ya change your mind, PM me for the sound - no charge :)

Hey that's great, I'm always looking for good sound artists - will keep you in mind!

I could port it to droid if you wish as I'm currently working on some things for myself as well.
Thanks for the offer, although I could do that myself. It's HTML5 so I could just export for Android, although if I'd do it I would choose to port over to Adobe AIR or Scaleform - I've had more luck with those engines in the past.

Whoa, Construct 2? Does this game use the Nintendo Web Framework in anyway? If not, then I would love to find out how you integrated the GamePad's features. (Gyroscope, etc)

Actually Nintendo did a very simple framework to access features like the gyroscope. It's not the Nintendo Web Framework (which I applied for, so I can tell you more when I get accepted as developer).

Oh wow; that's neat.

I use Stencyl as it's cross-platform. Construct 2 is confined to Windows.
