I see many people here, there and everywhere moving to post piracy type arrangements. As such I decided to enact a countermeasure in that I became a mega-pirate.

Now I could have a(nother) complete ROM/ISO set for everything ever appear, this would serve little practical purpose though and merely serve to waste storage space.

I have a three pronged assault in effect

1) The slippery slope/gateway approach. Licensing for various pieces of software is complex as anything and given licensing requirements are already likely to be bruised from time to time.

2) As far as download sites go there are sites that have been compromised and sites that are on borrowed time before they get compromised. Patch up the infrastructure then. At this point some get bogged down with the colour of hats, I have a bowler hat.

3) On the surface it might seem counter to 1 and 2 though it not. We have piracy Darwinism going into effect. Any and all means will be used to increase baseline capabilities, weed out the incapable and generally increase the strength of pirate stock. It will be harsh, it will be brutal but so is evolution. Fortunately we also live in the modern world where human natural selection is an odd topic and as such casualties might not be that high.

So you are proposing / in favour of harsher copyright laws, infringement fines, and increasingly complicated AP measures and DRM systems in order to weed out the "drag and drop" kids and grandmas from the pirate pool?

How does this let people become mega pirates--oh wait, this is the EoF. Never mind. I already know how to become a mega-pirate.

But wouldn't that make it so much better?

I pirate games, movies, shows, and music, and immediately delete them just so I can download them all over again.

Because I'm evil.

I pirate therefore I am?

That assumes laws do things. I am going with a more institutionalised elitism.

You should make a list of the world's 10 costliest programs / licences and download them out of spite, just to show that you're one badass pirate.

That would take some doing
