Unfortunately there is no real time scale on hacking a system such as the Wii U, and it's not even confirmed that this will ever happen, you will just have to wait patiently and keep checking back here until there is more information

I'm very surprised that I'm the 1st one mentioning the upcoming 3k3y from team Wiikey announced early May.
I am still waiting for word on that UKey...I would buy it but not sure if its actually coming out

Hi I asked him, no response yet but I would think he's a busy person, but I'm dying with excitement for a uk3y release date.
Yeah, he does get busy. I assure you though, anything he says is $, bank on it. A lot of people are looking forward to to the ukey. I still call it wiikeyu, lol. I suppose somebody could email the site for this or visit the forums and go to the source. Bubba said he was/is a beta tester and for me I prefer to ask him. "Sit tight", it is coming though. ANYTHING can change and this is the nature of life. I have not talked with Bubba for like a week (messaged) and last I knew it was still being released. He is a tester and not like the ones who MADE it or who will be producing it.
If you wanted to know about the 3 core project in vWii you could always ask Maxternal. This goes for anyone wanting to know about Wii U hacking. Best we have now is Marcan's espresso blog and hinting at possibly more to be given if Maxternal succeeds. Some good people working on that last I heard anything. Have not heard about Wii U exploit or anything more than this. HEARD Dolphin emulator will be able to use gamepad with PC (screen and all it looked like) BUT that was a rumor and I believe I saw a pic of this. Crediar working on "nintendon't" gamecube player that looks promising...ah...anything else is private and I am not told nor am I aware. People ask about the progress and this is all I know. I think Comex is friendly (has a twitter also) and is tied into f0f (hacked Wii U). Marcan may answer specific questions on twitter about Wii U but technical stuff--not about the exploit(s) or anything like that. I see more people coming around in threads looking and unless I am missing something I believe this is it.
--OHHH, there is a way to use the gamepad over network for a PC controller. THERE is also some gamepad hacking Marcan himself mentioned and it will work with PC. Anything else NOW is private. Lol, how this brings everyone up to speed. If you know something, please share if you can.
Just posted on the site, hopefully I'll get a coherent answer and not something vague or simple. Hell, maybe they'll even update the news on the official WiiKey website. I figured we'd get more info from the source instead of everyone messaging djbubba 2002 on here.

i could argue the same about the 360
To be fair with the original 360 you had to emulate if you wanted to play anything, it was the only way of making sure the hardware was reliable
