Gaming Getting Newer Super Mario Bros Wii to work without a copy of New Super Mario Bros?

I want to try out the mod on this site: http://www.newerteam.com/, however the installation instructions say you need to have a copy of New Super Mario Bros. Wii to get it to work. Is there a way yet to get it to work using the Configurable USB Launcher?

No you cant there are various hacks which require the disk.

maybe not

Holy crap, they finished the game? I remember like back in 2009 right after NSMBW launched and I saw the thread about the mod. Ah, time flies, doesn't it?

Patches have been made to make riivo exclusive mario kart expansions work through iso patching and usb loading, so I wouldn't be surprised if it's possible to do something similar for this as well. Hoping somebody figures it out though since I'm sitting here with a busted disc drive.

Someone know how i can apply memory patches in the game? just to test something.

No luck with that, so forget,
So, anything can be done to run this hack? i first thought on replacing files and see what we got (Accordingly to the riivolution .xml instructions) and applying the memory patches somehow but i got no luck with rebuilding the .iso. I wanted so hard to play that game but my DVD Drive broke somehow (its pretty old model wii, so i think thats the motive) :(

The "newer" loader means the loader for Newer SMB. Not having the proper loader will in all likelihood make the game not load.
Expand heaps: If you want to get out of memory errors (at least, I'm guessing that's what will happen), sure, ignore those.
Force non-jap: The text might be glitched, and depending on how the game works it might even try to put text in places it's not supposed to be and crash.
Title Screen Fixes: If these fixes are not just purely aesthetical you won't be able to even get past the title screen because it'll hang.
Disable Debug: okay, this one is probably not really needed.
