IGN have got footage of Sonic Lost World for the Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo Wii U.

Nintendo 3DS

Nintendo Wii U

Looking AMAZING!
We get a good look at the physics, while I admit everything's looking great, I hope some speed returns in some later levels, I like it so far though, THIS is what generations could have been in 3D but they decided not to do it; I still like Generations.
We seen the first 3DS wisp. It looks like it's Purple Frenzy also known as the Void Wisp.

The games are scheduled to release this Winter.
The games will be available both retail and digital download off the Nintendo eShop.

Which version are you getting? 3DS? or Wii U? Leave your comments and thoughts below!
I'm getting the 3DS version, It will be a fine addition to my ever growing 3DS collection.

Wisps confirmed so far

Cyan Wisp (Laser)
Purple Frenzy (Void)
Yellow Drill (Drill)
Pink Spikes (Spike)

(Will update the wisp list as more becomes apparent)

Just a tidbit. (taken from Sonic Wikia)

Sonic is actually slowed down in Sonic Lost World, due to the mechanics of previous games have made Sonic faster.

(Who knows why they decided to drop speed, either way, I'm a sucker for my platforming, and this game has PLENTY!)

Interesting. The controls look wonkey though. Music is very nice, per usual. My complaint is that while mid-air, Sonic needs to be doing trick flips. When he goes through the orange dash rings in the air, in most other Sonic games, Sonic will usually go "Yeah!" and do a flip.

Im not sure i share the same optermism as OP. Truthfully im not liking the layout, kinda looks like Mario 3d land and thats great for a normal platformer but im not seing ANY real oppertunity for the blistering fast speed levels that 3D sonic's are known for.

The IGN guys even talk about how the other 3D sonics had levels where you just went super fast and had very little control but it seems like the oppersite is true here, lots of control and platforming but no speed. Personally, i prefer the fast speed levels. Im all for platforming elements in the levels but the entire level shouldnt be like that, it should play a little like sonic unleashed. (just minus the rediculous transformed fighting) The platforming was good and it had a good mix with enough of the speed levels.

Watching the Wii U footage in the 4th video, I can see how great the level design and presentation are. Everything looks beautiful. I'll miss the high-speed Unleashed style, but I think this new style is reminiscent of the old-school Sonic games, and that is something that I love.

No Eggman? No Eggman? How's that possible in Sonic games? Has the Great Lakes turned into a barren wasteland? Or maybe the world turned upside down? Oh wait. The latter is true.

P.S. Anyone remembered that rumor about a sequel to Sonic Generations, titled "Sonic Legends"?

Eggman is in this game, we just haven't seen him yet.

IGN mentioned in a tweet that they thought the Wii U version "felt closer to" 60fps, and the 3DS version felt like 30fps or so.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Wii U version does indeed run at 60fps. So far the game looks less graphically intensive than Generations or Unleashed, and they ran at a locked 30fps (though dropping below that in intensive parts). Considering that the level design looks more sparse compared to the jaw dropping background detail in previous 3D Sonic games, shouldn't be a problem getting 60fps out of the Wii U one.

It's too bad that 60fps 3DS games are so rare. It can clearly be done, with games like Mario Kart 7 showing really nice graphical fidelity and incredibly smooth 60fps even in 3D (plus the upcoming Jett Rocket 2). I'll be surprised if the 3DS version of Lost World runs at 60. They probably could have with some more effort, but I won't count on it happening.

Dimps is developing the 3DS version and i'm not sure whether i'm liking what I see so far level design wise compared to the Wii U version. Though i'm guessing it will look incredible with the 3D effect.

It all boils down to how games are programmed and what's feasible, unfeasible, etc

The flying cutscene after Sonic hits a big spring in the 3DS version will give me nightmares.

Also, 'dat transition from Speed Shoes music to normal BGM.

Wow, this looks really nice. Haven't bought a Sonic game in a while, now is my chance.

reserving judgement for the time being... looks like it might need more speed!

2 player co-op on TV/gamepad would make me choose Wii U version over 3DS version
