BAMCO have announced HD remasters of Tales of Symphonia (which is good) and it's sequel, Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World (which is not good) for PS3. The HD remasters will include new cut scene for artes and costumes from Tales of the Abyss. It will be released in Japan in October.
Funnily enough, a ToS HD release was previous dismissed by serious producer Hideo Baba but it seems he was trolling and mocking us. This also means the PS3 has officially become a Tales machine with enhanced ports of Vesperia, Graces and now Symphonia along with the original Tales of Xilla gaems.

Yay, instant buy for me once it's released in the EU region. I wonder how long it'll take to get the translations going.. Hopefully sooner than later :P

If Nintendo still has the translation rights outside of Japan, does this mean we'll have a new set of voice actors again? If that's the case, I may or may not want it. The voices from the second game didn't fit well with the personalities of Lloyd and Co.

Fuck you Namco, you bloody well know it should be on the Wii U. It really isn't HD if it's on the PS3 :P

Though Dawn of the New World sucked ass so Sony kiddies can have fun with that fail sauce game.

Why do people dislike Dawn of the New World? I thought it was a pretty decent game in its own right, and don't recall ever being disappointed/pissed off about anything. The original cast returning was awesome. Other than Super Mario Galaxy and Mario Kart, I think it is one of the only games I actually played to completion on the Wii.

The plot wasn't really good compared to the first game, and the lack of growth for the original cast was really disappointing. It was an alright game, but kinda lame compared to the original. The only thing it has over the first game is the free movement during battles.

I remember reading somewhere that they're going to rectify it by at least adding in the ability to actually level up the original cast, so that's something to look forward to. At this point, I don't give a flip any more as someone who doesn't own a PS3. I do hope the PS3 owners actually buys these, but I'm certainly not caving in for one game series.

The monster system messed up my usual style of tales play, two strike arts and two magic arts party members at nearly all times. Made the game harder for me. I also had the power go out on me once in the middle of saving and lost my save. Never went back to complete it after that. I had nearly 40 hours in.
