$105 before rebates, and TD is notoriously bad with them... if it was portable and USB-powered I might've bit, but I think I'll pass.

EDIT: My bad, it's apparently USB powered, but still pretty large and uses a proprietary cable. Still gonna pass.

You have to subscribe to a security package to get the rebate. Its a bundle.

If it sounds too good to be true...

I believe you are buying the sub with your purchase, you must activate it when you get the product, that does not mean you must use the software.

people fail at rebates not TD lol.

anyway was passing it on to anyone who needed cheap HD's with decent space.

I don't think it's a pricing error. Deals of this kind have been popping up for the past few weeks on /r/buildapcsales. These posts are generally pretty good rebate deals, and it's often worth it, EXCEPTING that you must activate that software with an active credit card. Some users think you can avoid it with a prepaid card used as credit; but the catch is that the software means to take as much money out of you as is possible, negating any of the deal via rebates.
