Satoru Iwata becomes CEO of NoA

The President of Nintendo (Japan) has taken over the position of C.E.O at Nintendo of America. He will be replacing Tatsumi Kimishima, who has been promoted to a different area of the company. The reason for the change was explained as "an effort to enhance it's "organizational agility" and streamline international business". Reggie Fils-Aime remains the president of NoA, of course.

Must feel great to be an overlord to not only one mafia-like branch of Nintendo, but two! This doesn't necessarily mean a bunch of Japanese games will suddenly be localized or anything, but maybe release dates will be closer together and overall more organized between countries.

Hopefully this will speed up the decisions behind their western marketing strategies, NoA has always been NoJ puppet anyways.
If things go right I can see them taking a more bolder approach with their releases, eShop only localizations, quicker VC releases, a generally better sense of demand and supply. All in all good news.

CEO is long term planning for the company, I think it's a higher position than president. The president takes care of stuff that's happening at the moment.
