I've recently starting using neek2o but I have a some questions.

When I click on the neek2o channel forwarder it shows a black screen with loading text. The very first line says.. (Switching to "realnand" mode) What does that mean? I thought that neek2o ran completely on emuNAND?

Another issue I'm having is when I try to load up gamecube games. Neek2o see's the games. Then when I click on the disc drive it starts to boot up the game, but the DIOS MIOS screen flashes and takes over. And any game that has compatibility issues with DM starts to experience the same issue's from within neek2o.

The reason why I think this is strange is because my emuNAND is using the original mIOS not DM. I only have DM on my realNAND. Why is neek2o accessing my realNAND instead of my emuNAND?

Somewhere I found an answer to your first question because the first time I ever saw the neek2o channel was in an emanand, since I ran neek through casper from a modmii setup, and it wasn't obvious to me what it was for. The answer I founds in response to someone asking a similar question to yours was, when in an emunand, the neek2o channel loads the real nand. That's just what it does. I haven't even touched it again myself since I read that, but booting back to real nand is probably something like what it did for me. At the time I probably thought the system just rebooted, oops, kind of true though, but that's the point.

Can I find this in official documentation (what there is of it) ? No, but it seems to make sense. I have no idea about the second question.

NSwitch (the app embeded in the channel) switches itself to "real nand mode", because you start in real nand and therefor will do all whats needed to reboot into neek2o.

If you launch a GC game in neek2o it will launch BC on emulated nand. Original BC will switch the Wii in GC mode just like original BC on real nand will do and reboot the Wii and boot2 will launch mios on real nand.

You can't use the dip custom calls in neek2o to redirect disc reads to usb device to work with mios/GC games

Does neek2o direct any other tasks to realnand? If so, will using Uneek+Di avoid any use of the realnand?

This part has me confused because I don't know what "Dip custom calls" means. I also didn't know what "BC" was, but I found something online that I think explained it. Will using Uneek+Di, instead of neek2o, prevent BC from launching mios on the real nand?

I've done some experimenting with both Uneek+Di and neek2o. I figured if I installed a different mios over DM that it would fix my problem of having GC games boot with dios mios. Well it did, and it didn't, at the same time. :P With neek2o.. it would still recognize that the games were there, but when I'd try to load them, the drive would activate like it's trying to read a disc, then instant black screen and the Wii would boot all the way back out to the real nand. I even tried it with a dummy disc in the drive and same thing would happen.

When I tried Uneek+Di, it didn't seem to matter what mios I had installed, I could never get Uneek+Di to see my gamecube games. The games I was experimenting with are in DiscEx format. Which neek2o didn't seem to have a problem with, but Uneek+Di just didn't recognize them. Is there a special format that Uneek+Di requires the GC games to be in for it to recognize them?

For those still curious about BC this is where I found info on it.. http://forum.wiibrew.org/read.php?27,8960,8977

Short story: Both regular neek and neek2o will use mios on real nand if BC isn't replaced.

I think regular neek should recognize your GC games if neek2o recognize them
