This has been my third day with my brand new Pikachu 3DS XL and I just noticed what might possibly be a dead pixel. I'm pretty sure it wasn't there before, but maybe my memory is playing tricks on me. I've had pieces of dust inside my screens before and they are noticeable even after turning the screen off. However, I can't notice anything when I turn off the screen with this 3DS XL.

I need to add that if I tilt my 3DS upwards or downwards significantly, the "dead" pixel is unnoticeable. However If I tilt it horizontally in any direction the "dead" pixel can still be seen. Also, adding 3D won't make the black dot go away. Thanks in advanced.

That's dust.

A dead pixel would be black.
A stuck pixel would be Red/Green/Blue.

Edit:
It could also be a small airbubble.
I noticed you have a screen protector applied to it and it suspiciously looks like a small airbubble.

I don't have a screen protector on it because I live in one of the dustiest place ever. (I already wasted over 100 US dollars in those Hori Easy-to-Apply screen protectors for nothing.)
However, like you said, it might be dust. Thanks for your help.

BTW. Is there any known way to remove dust without opening the system?

Hm
From the pics it really looks like it's a screen protector tho ;p

Anyway, I unfortunately don't know a way to remove the dust without opening it up.
I guess that the best thing to do is just to ignore it.
You could shake it hard a few times but it might shift the dust particle further onto the screen.
It might also shove it into a corner where it's not noticable at all.

Edit:
looking at the pic again, it might also be a small smudge.
I don't know if you tried wiping it away with a microfiber cloth.
