Or because of the mess fail0verfl0w had with sony - I would not blame them if they have second thoughts about releasing an exploit for a new console.
Why release a hack that will be patched in a day and forever lock out most people from being able to use it?
Am I the only one who doesn't want the Wii U hacked so early in life? I want developers to feel comfortable with the Wii U instead of blaming low sales on piracy and crap. I want games, not never finished homebrew.
I want emulators for the Wii U, but game backups, I couldn't care less about so we can agree on that. Emulators won't hurt sales anyway, unless they're on the VC. I'd love to see a PS1 emulator on there.
Emulators = fine by me
"backed up" games = No bueno
I'm fairly certain EVERYONE has access to emulators on various platforms, why do we need them on the Wii U? Portability? There are phones that have emulators, tablets, can even hook a gamepad into nearly all smart phones.
Potentially, if the communication protocol between the Wii U's optical drive can be decrypted, documented, re-encrypted, and doesn't require any unique data that's not feasible to feed back from a different device.Would it be possible that someone create an optical drive emulator(ode) for the wiiu like the xk3y for xbox360?

Because the Wii and DS died, right? They never got any good, official, first-party and third-party games.
It's not like they went on anyways to become the best-selling systems of all time, right?
Nope, piracy killed them.
