GAME has become the first European retailer to sell eShop codes for the Wii U and 3DS, both in its physical stores and online through its site.

The retailer has signed an agreement allowing it to be the exclusive store to sell the codes, which are issued via a till receipt if purchased in-store or email if bought online. These are then entered into the respective Nintendo eShop either on 3DS or Wii U.

Holy smoke....just looking at the 3DS download prices, some titles are just a few pounds or same price over the cheapest online retailers. On the Eshop they are £39.99. If you only buy digital copies, never purchase directly off the E-shop guys.

Fire emblem Awakening - £34.99
Luigi Mansions - £33.99
Monster Hunter £34.99
Style Boutique - £31.99
LEGO City Undercover: The Chase Begins - £29.99
Super Mario 3D Land -£31.99
New Super Mario Bros 2 -£32.99
Mario Kart 7 - £31.99
The Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time - £32.99
Paper Mario: Sticker Star - £32.99
Super Pokemon Rumble - £32.99
New Art Academy -£25.99
Castlevania: Lords of Shadow £32.99
Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask - £32.99
Star Fox 64 3D -£32.99
Mario Tennis Open - £32.99
Freakyforms Deluxe -£22.99

I'm going digital! Now if Amazon had these, they would have gone even more cheaper slightly.

For you personally sure, there are people who prefer digital games and it's a great deal. I don't go for pre-owned stuff cos no Cub Nintendo points, plus digital's give you the double points.

This is awesome, on the eshop games are around £39.99, here you are getting digital copies them for £31.99/£32.99.

As WiiUBricker just showed us, some of those titles are actually cheaper even when new and in box... so... Not as great a deal as you might think.

XBox Live, PSN and the eShop administrators don't quite understand the concept of "games aging" - a lot of those are very early titles and yet they're sold for what I consider "full price" - they may have been worth that much when they were new but they're not new anymore and if they want to have a chance in competing with normal stores, be it selling Pre-Owned or New cartridges, they need to drastically re-think their strategies when pricing stuff.

PSN is slowly "getting there" with all the sales that are going on and the extra reductions for PS+ owners, Nintendo should follow suit.

I clearly stated these are some extra pounds over retail games, it's all for personally choice. Of course people who like boxed games and see the cheaper prices will say this is superior. There are people who buy at full price on the E-shop just for digital convenience. It's saving them money. I really don't think all of those company's will discount their big games on their store, except a temp discounts that happen quite often in all store. PS+ has done great.

I'm tempted as well, I don't mind shelling out a few extra pounds. Digital is what I always preferred, but the full price is just no. This is reasonable.

"No Nintendo points"

Were this Japan I might agree but non Japan* eshop.... if you want a bauble my local supermarket has a Nintendo themed toy capsule machine and that £100 could buy the whole set and then some.

*I must confess I have no idea what goes for Korean eshop and given Nintendo puts in some serious effort in localising stuff there and SK has a serious thing for online games and rewards I doubt even Nintendo could miss an online trick that hard.

Still I am always a fan of having cash work online after a capacity so eh.

Well, d'uh - when the game is new, a cheaper price is always a good thing... I prefer the comfort of having a physical copy though, even if it causes me inconvenience these days (I could play a digital copy on 2 PS3's simultaneously by using the same account, no such luck with a disc). There's also the added benefit of being able to trade your game in once you're done, but not everyone does that. I suppose my "woes" are just collector's quirks so I can see how these don't apply to everyone. ;)

Both have their advantages and weaknesses. Similarly to where one's taste will vary in consoles.. ;)

There is only one true way and those who stray away from it will feel the wrath of the followers of the True Faith.

*Cough!* *Cough!* *Hack!* I mean, of course, we have to be tolerant of other people's tastes. :D
