So I've been messing around with the code from ShowMiiWads and I've converted the Wii.cs library to python in order for me to understand better how the VC wads work, and just because I like python.

It got me thinking and wondering why games couldn't be injected into the latest N64 wads. So I looked into it, talked to hcs and came up with a solution. This allowed me to inject games into the latest N64 wads like Bomberman Hero. Long story short, I've made a wad that plays Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon!

Here's the video (there's a link in the description):

i know it does not save through... cause VC can't emulate the Controller Pak Right?

would be cool if you could make it save (but i doubt that would happen)

You're right, there's no saving. There's no way to actually do that unless it's possible to get in the actual emulator of the Wii VC wad and rewrite certain parts. Or edit the rom to use internal saving.

Yes, but Wii.cs has a feature that I wanted. Namely, to be able to rename titleID's and change Channel titles programmatically. I wrote a script to automatically inject roms into wads given a wad folder and a rom folder.

I haven't played this game myself, but what you did is pretty cool

That means that some games that are tricky to emulate/inject on the wii could be injected now?

I have tried a lot of the N64 games that were released in the US, but most of them emulate without sound when injected into Bomberman Hero. So you could play them, but they have no sound. The only games that worked and had sound were Mystical Ninja and Goemon's Great Adventure.

Have you tried Goemon's Great Adventure?

@the_randomizer: I did try Goemon's Great Adventure and it is working. However, there is a point early on in the game which the VC freezes. I'm trying to figure out a way around that before I release it.
@totalnoob617: Thanks!

@Pong20302000: I think Quest 64 works as well :)

Goemon's Great Adventure

It still doesn't work after a certain point, but maybe someone else can figure out a way around it. It happens when you go to Ringbell Pass, so don't go there. Also, if you skip the cutscene with Sasuke, it will freeze, so you have to sit through it. The only way that you can get further in the game is to avoid these two things. The way you could avoid the Ringbell pass is to get 5 passes and just go straight to Edo Castle, which is possible, I think.

Quest 64

The only issues with this one is that it can't save and the text background is magenta, which is slightly annoying. Everything else works fine.

Enjoy!

Edit: My bad. I didn't know that I couldn't post links to the wads. I'll link them in the original youtube video!

@Hero_of_time: Battletanx 1 & 2 (but I did get both of them working with sound when injected into mario golf), Bomberman 64 works but without picture (which is kind of useless), Lego Racers works but it's too glitchy to play (no models for other racers), Mario Party 1 (but with lots of glitches. For some reason the bottom half of the screen flashes on and off), Rocket Robot on Wheels (just no sound, everything else looks fine), Pokemon Stadium (lots of graphical glitches, but playable somewhat. Menus are unreadable), Rampage 1 & 2, and Worms Armageddon (But I did get rampage and worms working with sound :))

So can the Wii version of Sin and Punishment be extracted as a rom to play on a real N64 using a flashcart? Or is there already a translation patch available?
