Hacking Is it usefull not to Update to 5.x?

On 3dbrew.org there is a message, that it is not recommend to update the system to 5.x. But there is no info what is planed.Will there be a release in a near time? I mean, if we didnt update we cant use the eShop and cant play online and why should we wait for something, that didn´t come?

I asked, because the firmware 5.x is out since 25 March.

The message is there for other people who are hacking the 3DS, that it might impair their ability to document the internals.

I've seen somewhere that this update patches some things that the scene that is working to hack the console, so would not be advised to update if you one day might use their hacks...

It depends. I for example will never update my 3DS to 5.x because some other Hackers might release hack one day, and plus I have old model of R4iSDHC card that would not even work on 5.x
If hack never comes, I will probably buy Japanese 3DS which I would use as a primary 3DS so I can go on eshop, update console, and play new games (I need money ). So DS homebrew and older 3DS games would be played on my Europian 3DS, while newer games would be played on Japanese 3DS

I am still amazed by fact that two best hackers hacked it and they wont release it. They trolled all of us (including me) who were expecting hack one day
Well, it's their choice and there is one thing I agree with them. Piracy is bad. Someone should find a way only to make 3DS to play homebrew and Region Free. Without 3DS rom support but I doubt that is possible

I think it's not possible because of the forced update system. I mean, in order to remove the update from games, you need a rom loader and rom loader means, you know, piracy.
Otherwise I think it will be very unlikely that someone keeps its 3DS offline and plays only old games just to have some homebrews...

Anyway, i'm not going to update this time! but..i can't go to eShop unless i update and i really want to play some games and download COLORS!...

As long as there is no hack even in development that will be released to users, I see it as pointless.

Most of games get released in all regions not including Skylanders (I am mad because If Skylanders were released in Japan, I would only get Japanese 3DS and I would never have reason to complain) so there is no issue for me.

It's up to you to decide what you want because people view things differently. But here is what I would do if I were you. I would wait for some time and only update for something huge like Project X Zone. But I have different plan for myself and I don't think you would do same. I will leave my current 3DS on 4.5.X firmware with my older games, and buy Japanese 3DS (need money )which I will use for friend codes, updates and new games (most games get released in all regions plus Japan gets most exclusives. If Skylanders were in Japan I would never get Europian 3DS)

I Just wonder if this hacker will release officialy soon enought is own cfw like whats going happen to next before the release? i mean the true nintendo 3ds Emulator and more stuff will show up in the scene.

The only people we know of that are actually making any progress have stated that they will not release the hack they've been working on. They've told us this a few times over multiple months.

EDIT: Re-worded to be more consistent. Also they're only putting info on their site and IRC. If you see info anywhere else, it's because somebody ELSE (not the hackers) is posting about it.
