Question - As per Rule 7, where if a member loses his connection during the match, only by a unanimous vote from the group can the match be restarted to include the disconnected member - in the situation for one like my group, Group 3, where I will be unable to attend whatsoever, I am hoping that should someone disconnect, my input WILL NOT be required in the decision to restart the match.

Just want to clear up any ambiguity with that, and hopefully any other situation where "full group input" will be required.

how long does anybody think each round will realistically take? i have to leave for work at 2:45 PST. If everybody in my group (Region 1 group 8) to please be as early as possible. and a question for the global moderator is it possible to do the round earlier so there is no risk that i have to leave early?

Yeah, the control styles rule needs to be removed IMO. The default controls are just atrocious, and I honestly cannot play well with them.
Pretty sure that by "control styles" he means the control "tuning style" options (repeat delay, repeat rate, etc.). I don't see a reason why changing the key configuration would be against the rules.

Yeah, I guess. I don't even have any of those unlocked, so that'll be fine if that's what TwinRetro meant. If he did mean actual controls though, there wouldn't even been any way to tell if you weren't using the default ones.
