Hacking Can I use other memory cards besides kingston for my r4?

Is this an original R4 (no SDHC support)?
The best MicroSD card (maximum compatibility, no lag) for older flashcarts without SDHC support is the japanese Kingston cards. They HAVE to be produced in Japan though, the Taiwan ones are no good. I believe the model numbers for the japan produced ones are SD-C01G and SD-C02G.
Any memory card will mostly work, it's just that certain problem games require a fast MicroSD to work correctly.

Considering that he posted this in the 3DS subforum, I would assume that he intends to use his flashcart on a 3DS. Hence, I assume that it is NOT the original R4 since that one cannot run on the said machine.

If that is the case, then yes. You should be able to use other brands of microSD cards.

Oh sorry for not being specific. I'm using R4I-sdhc(r4i-sdhc.com). I have no clue whats fake and whats not anymore lol.

Anything that's more than just "R4" is not made by the actual R4 team.

Which means that yes, 99% of "R4" carts out there are by different people using the name without permissions.
