The Playstation 3 and Vita 2D dungeon crawler Dragon's Crown was announced a while ago, right near the Vita's start. While it was already confirmed for Japan and rumors pegged it at a NA release, it's now official: It's coming to the US.
The game is made by Vanillaware, known for their distinct 2D art in both Odin Sphere and Muramasa: The Demon Blade (the latter is also being ported to the Vita and coming this summer). Players take control of one of six classes: Fighter, Sorceress, Amazon, Wizard, Dwarf, and Elf. The game plays like a 2D dungeon co-op dungeon crawler, so if you're into that or just get a hardon for 2D art, then this game is probably for you.
The game will retail at $49.99 for the Playstation 3 and $39.99 for the Vita. It unfortunately won't support crossplay, but it will support cross-save. It's unknown whether it'll support crossbuy, however.

Does that mean you can transfer your save data from a source console to a destination console (Vita to PS3 or vice-versa), but you won't be able to play off the save on the destination console? If I'm understanding that correctly, I'm just wondering what would be the point of that?

Says the one with borderline in the rules avatars and sigs aim at a different audience? ;)

Seriously tho, I haven't heard or at least pay attention to this game. I have to read on it later.
Whateva Whateva, I do what I want!

On topic: I do love dungeon crawlers and really needed an excuse to buy a Vita (besides Persona 4)

Crossplay means people from different devices are able to play together. Like FFCC: Echoes of Time, or Playstation Allstars where multiple platforms can play together. So Vita users can't play with PS3 users, but you CAN swap your save between the two if you for some reason own it on both platforms.

I'll be perfectly honest, I really don't like the art design of this one. The characters just look... ugh...

The fact that it all looks as if it was "drawn" is great but I hate the proportions (yes, the monstrous breasts as well). Just look at the legs of the "amazon", they're just... grotesque.

Cross-Play is an umbrella term for titles which support some form of interaction between the two versions - it could be save transferring, it could be sharing DLC, it could be Multiplayer - depends on the title.

Mortal Kombat for example allows multiplayer between PS3 and PSVita users. You can also race againts PS3 players in Wipeout HD which came out as DLC for Wipeout 2048 for the PSVita.

Makes sense now. Thanks for clarifying :)

I don't see what's really risque with his current avatar. It's like... a Lucario and some dude.

I do like the art outside of the overdoing of, um, "things", but I think a lot of the other art is fantastic and seeing as Sony is a no-show with Warrior's Lair, this will scratch my dungeon crawling itch.
