With the current 3DS promo, that is.

My friend got a new 3ds xl, and is planning on buying Luigi's Mansion.

He's eligible for the free game promo

Which free 3ds game should he get out of the following? (From the XL promo? - He has the Mario, so I won't list that one)
"FreakyForms Deluxe"
"Professor Layton"
"Starfox 64 3d"
"Art Academy"

Thanks!

(He doesn't want to make an account on here, so I figured I'd ask for him)

Professor Layton and Starfox 64 is the games I would recommend.
I feel starfox might be more entertaining, but professor Layton has more gameplay.

Proffessor Layton (39.99$)
Starfox (35.99$ or 39.99$ don't remember)
Art academy (29.99$)
Freaky form (19.99$)

Should be obvious...

Edit: Oh,i forgot to say that they are the prices for NEW game. So,i would, and will,go for PL. (SF3D look meh)

Either Professor Layton or Star fox 3D for better value purchase. The latter is quite short, you could beat it in a few hours. :/ I didn't enjoy both games.

I would have voted for Super Mario 3D Land. :P

Yeah,if he don't like anime,SF3D is the better choice.I've suggest PL in consideration that SF3D is a port, but since he didn't played it on N64...

SM3DL was also very short,no?

Thanks HeartGold!! So Starfox is a bit short, then, huh?

He has the mario game xP

I just feel like Layton would be pure-puzzle-esque, and a tad boring. Just an assumption though
Yep, very short. Looking at around 2-4 hours gameplay. I'm not a fan of puzzles either. He could have a couple hours blast on star fox if he wishes.

Medoli900, Super mario 3D Land has 10-15 hours gameplay.

That is short...
For me,a good gameplay duration is ruled by this inequation:
(2x)(y/z)≥ Gameplay duration in hour
Where x=The value of the game in $
y=Enjoyment
Personal enjoyment based on your taste.
z=Quality
Presentation,graphics...based on review site

The Starfox remake is, indeed, quite short. I haven't played the Layton games, but I'd think that'd be the best deal out of the choices, for a brand new 3DS owner. Starfox may be a good caliber remake, but Layton would offer more bang for the buck without being any worse for wear.

Im getting this same deal but my deciding factor is to get the game I will play but not buy the game card for.

For me that is Star Fox lol

I'm getting Professor Layton but I want the actual game not the download ;)

i would pick star fox, but it is kind of a short game if your good at it, but it can take a while if you want to get all the medals for all the levels

By that logic, you expect a worse game to last longer?

It really should depend on genre, you shouldn't expect a dollar an hour or some stupid shit like that like far too many people these days. The average $60 game will likely last no longer then 20 hours though besides RPGs, usually half that. And 2D games are typically less then a QUARTER of that.
