Hacking Another idiot who updated her 3DSXL, now her R4 card doesn't work

Just like the title says, I foolishly updated my 3DS and now my R4 card doesn't work.
So, now, whenever I try and access my R4 card, I get this error:

An error has occured.

Press and hold the POWER button​

to turn the system off.​

I'm a complete noob in this. Utter noob. And I wonder what I should do now.
Um, so, my current Nintendo 3DS firmware(is that what you call it?) is Ver. 4. 5. 0-10U
Is there a new R4 card for this new firmware yet? Or do I have to wait?
Should I just buy a new R4 Card? I don't mind if I have to do that. And if my only option is to buy a new R4 card, which one would you recommend?

I'm afraid you'll need a new flashcart or you'll have to get your hands on a DS - the only flashcarts that work on the 3DS with the latest firmware are the DSTwo and the R4iGold from R4iDS.cn

Getting my hands on a DS is pretty much impossible as I don't know anybody who has a DS.
So you're saying I'll have to get a new flashcart? DSTwo and R4iGold? The DSTwo is betterthanthe R4iGold I've heard. Has more features in it I think?
You're completely sure they work on Ver. 4. 5. 0-10U? I just want to make sure.

This time it's a hardware issue rather than a software one - it can't be fixed and the only two cards unaffected by the patch are those two.

The DSTwo is better as it has an additional CPU and some additional memory so there's dedicated homebrew for it. The R4 is... well, and R4, and it runs Wood, plus it's cheaper. Now, do note that there are several "Gold" R4's - the only one that works is the one from R4iDS.cn so order only from the "certified" suppliers. If you can't, you're better off with the DSTwo. Take your pick.

The R4iGold comes pre-updated, the DSTwo can be updated without a DS system if I recall correctly, but it comes pre-updated as well as far as I know.

DSTwo & R4ids.cn currently work on all Firmware versions released
no card can auto update, it it something you have to do
make sure you update your flashcard before the console

The ACTUAL original R4 does not work on the DSi or 3DS at all, which is why we suggest the r4ids.cn model instead.

Almost all the "R4" carts are by separate people unrelated to the original R4 team, using the name without permission, because these things come from China, and China doesn't care about copyrights/IP.

Thanks for the help. So I'm probably gonna get a R4iGold3DS. But I MIGHT get a DSTwo. The DSTwo is expensive...but yea, I'll think about it.
Lesson learned. From now on, update the R4 card before updating 3DS.
Incidentally, suppose the 3DS gets updated again, where would I download the update for the R4iGold/DSTwo? On their websites?
