I do hope so. Even companies and people that use flash as a vector animation program (which it's obviously decent at otherwise people would have jumped ship sooner) release them as videos on stream sites instead nowadays.

Were things really so much better in the days where every website that wanted to show video needed a custom plugin, be it realpayer, windows media plugin, or any of the other people vying for top stop?

No... them days were bad days. Flash becoming a standard did great things for media on the internet

I agree, (also ppl who complain about buffering over cable = lol) but flash player is a resource hog.

I had to install a add blocker on my acer sub-notebook, because it couldn't play a single online anymore....
(now it plays them sorta fine again :/)
Flash and java are things I don't really want on my pc, because nearly all new viruses get on your pc trough them :/
