Please link back to hacksden for downloads instead of hosting it yourself. It ensures that people will always receive the latest version.

Changelog:
v1.8
  • You can now use a custom background by putting "background.png" in your PowerCheck folder
  • Made the HacksDen.com text smaller
  • Code optimization
  • Remotes time out after 2 minutes, just in case
v1.7
  • The GUI has been completely redone with GRRLIB. It is no longer hideous. Credit for the background belongs to Robgee789 at TheChillOutRoom.org.
  • You can reset the Wii with the POWER button.
  • It's a lot bigger (1.1MB), and since bigger is better, that makes this a feature. Accept this.
v1.6
  • Huge improvement on the report accuracy
  • Errors are now shown in red.
  • You can now turn off the Wii with the POWER button
  • Added version number to the app
  • Some code cleanup
v1.5
  • Fixed a really stupid mistake. 1.4 didn't write blank spaces over "Not connected", the percentage was mixed in.
v1.4
  • Percentage is in green, and "Not Connected" is in red
  • No need to connect your remotes before checking the percentages anymore
  • The power status is constantly updated
  • If you don't have any remotes registered, the program closes
  • Code optimization
v1.3
  • Supports new Motion+ remotes
v1.2
  • Wii Balance Board now supported
  • Fixed power reporting over 100%
v1.1
  • Checks up to 4 remotes instead of just one
v1.0
  • Original release
Making a custom background
The easiest way to do it is to pick a background from the internet (preferably a dark one for the white text) and slap this template on top of it:
PowerCheckTemplate.png

If you're feeling more creative, you can make your own, but make sure it's 640x480 and that it's a png file. Name it "background.png" and place it in the same directory as the boot.dol file.

  • God for always being there.
  • heat6jones for making the request that lead to PowerCheck.
  • Robgee789 at TheChillOutRoom.org for the beautiful background (v1.7+).
  • All the people who tested, even though I don't remember who you are (oops).
  • Mountain Dew for making me immortal (untested).
Donations
While donations are very much appreciated, don't do it because you feel that's the only way to get future releases.

I just learned that the balance board connects separately (had I owned one I would know already ... but anyway ...)

Thanks for another nice little app. It's probably for using rechargeable but I can never get a 100% reading off of mine. :(
I'll be releasing an update very soon that should greatly improve the accuracy of the reports.

thanks!, this is awesome :)
When I first released this, I was annoyed by how popular it was. I posted it in a thread on temp, and it was the simplest app I had ever made, only like 50 lines of code. SE GUI is thousands of lines of code, and it has only a fraction of the downloads. IIRC, PowerCheck got around 200 downloads in the first day.

Anyway, I've finally gotten around to creating an official thread.

Edit: Oops, sorry for the double post. Can someone merge these?
