Hacking R4 card dont work, please help? (3ds xl 4.5.0-10e)

Hello.

I just got a R4 gold flash card for my 3ds xl (4.5.0-10e). I have tried to install the kernel but everytime i put the card in my ds i get an error. I dont know if i have installed something wrong or what the problem is. To install the kernel is it right to just drag the files to the memory card?

It does not work like that.
There is a chip inside the R4 that must be updated, and the only way to do that is to access the update function inside the kernel.

You need to RUN the update, not just put it on the MicroSD.

However your 3DS has blocked the cart, so it cannot run.

So you need to use the R4 on another DS unit that WILL run it, so you can RUN the update.

It depends. If you update your card before your 3DS, you will not need to borrow a DS Lite. Otherwise, you will need to borrow a DS Lite.

Just forget what i said. I borrowed a friends ds lite and updated the card and now it works perfectly. Thank you everyone specialy Rydian for the help.
