I'm amazed the fella has kept on with the WiiWare version, he even says it'll probably cause a loss profit wise what with WiiWare never really doing good business, even when the Wii was at his height of printing money. However because he announced it, it is still coming out. Bravo Sir!
The WiiWare version will be released February 28th for 1000 points and unlike the XBLA/PSN versions will include a special ROM City Rampage Prototype bonus. Basically it's this game as if it WAS for the NES! Of course the game as it is now looks like a NES title but obviously no way that game would run on that hardware. The "ROM City Rampage" version is how a game like this could run on that hardware this is kinda like a look back to when this game was originally a NES remake of GTA3 called "Grand Theftendo".
ROM City Rampage Prototype will also appear in a free update on the same day for Steam owners and for those who haven't yet bought it, it is now on sales for half price. No news on whether this will appear on a future update for PSN for the PS3/Vita version but the XBLA version won't feature it. The developer wants to but can't due to Microsoft's policy on charging developers way too much just to update a game. Before anyone asks, there will be no Wii U (it does have a Wii mode you know) or 3DS versions as the developer is done with ports and wants to move on...who can blame him, this game has been in the works for over 8 years.
All this was mentioned on the developers Facebook page
Here is my review of the PC version
