So we still have to wait roughly 2 months just for a partial game/demo? It's a step in the right direction, but it still doesn't excuse the way Wii U owners have been treated with the game delay.

I'd be happier that they made up for it at all rather then complain about a demo delay and a game delay.
Sure we can be mad that it's delayed, but is there really any point?
I swear this thread is gonna end up like those threads where 3DS ambassadors cried for days about the price cut.

Well, it HAS to be exclusively on the Wii U because only the Wii U version is done at this point. It's still being ported to the other consoles and that won't be done until, as we all know, much later on this year. Just a month for them to chop off the main game mode as to be able to publish it for free before it's even in a alpha stage for the other consoles seems like a pretty good peace offering to me.

(actually, I bet this is a limited time offer just until the full version is released. At that point I bet Wii U owners just like everybody else would have to buy the full version to get this feature ... hopefully those that got the free part up front can still play against those who have the full version, too, and don't HAVE to pay to update immediately.)

Before you get all bitchy on another bitchfest, this is a move by the devs who had no choice in the delay.

"exclusively on Wii U"

I heard that one before
I totally added that just to spite the whiners. ;)

I am quite aware that the development team had nothing to do with the delay, and I feel sorry for them because they were pushed to meet the 26th release date only to be told by Ubisoft that they are going to have to make it for the 360 and PS3, then delayed to release at the same time due to Microsoft's requirements. And ultimately Ubisoft probably asked them to release the challenge mode for the Wii U for free and early because of the negative backlash and bad PR they received from the delay.

Adding an extra mode to appease the Wii U crowd? Really, Ubisoft, was that such a challenge?

This doesn't really look like something that would interest me very much, but it's still a very neat addition, and a decent concession to the fans that felt burned by the delay. It's a pretty good solution, all considered. We can all agree to that, right?

I'm not falling for it. Okay, so it's a complete mode. But I think this says more of the size of that mode than the game itself. I bet there's 3 or 4 levels max (in other words: everything mentioned in the video). Just because they say they're acknowledging the fans doesn't make everything alright.

Also: how the fuck is this 'making up for it' in any way? Or ballsy? Unless I'm missing a pun line, I'd say it's neither.

Because you're receiving content that you don't technically deserve in the first place, but are graciously being given?

Or ballsy?
Because they are releasing special content specifically for this system and not the others?

You're not missing the pun line, you're just believing you're entitled to something you aren't really entitled too...

As said numerous times before, the delay was a corporate decision, the devs probably 'twisted the boards arm' and persuaded them to release this FREE challenge mode. The mode itself is updated with new levels as well.

What the hell are you smoking?

Since when was this ever about "deserving" anything? It's not like I did anything to earn something, so that word has no merit here. And considering the circumstances: that "graciously" doesn't fit either.

Nobody ever asked for yet another free demo, so it's not like we are ungrateful. And considering ubisoft's promises, it's only fair that they keep it.

I don't like to repeat myself, but I think you accidentally answered a wrong quote. So, again:

How is this ballsy?
Jeez...it's not like they're provoking microsoft to withold the game anyway, as this is only a few extra levels you get.

I know it was a corporate decision. So? If you ask me, chances are equally high that the board twisted the developer's arms on this. Something on the lines of "Nice going there, devs. Now we are considered the bad guys and everyone loves you because you want to release the game. Well...here's what we'll do: we'll announce another demo with your praises in an effort to cash in that popularity. And you better do your best about it, as we'll be monitoring the wiiu sales."
