Ok, so i searched everywhere and strangely, i couldn't find any technical specifications about 3DS lcd screen, in fact, i'm not even sure if it is a regular LCD..is it LED or whatever .

So my question is this: Is there some website or does someone here knows full specs about 3DS screen (except that it has 3D..i know that :) ) like response time, size of the dot, brightness level..whatever, i don't know

Thanks in advance ^_^

7 milliseconds

The top screen offers 800 x 240 resolution and the bottom a 320 × 240 display.

(Top screen) 3.53 inch LCD autostereoscopic 3D screen, 118 DPI at 800 x 240 WQVGA resolution. (Lower screen) 3.02 inch LCD touch screen at 320 x 240 QVGA resolution.

both screens capable of displaying a brilliant 16.77 million colors.

7ms..thats cool, its fast.. my PC monitor that i'm using right now is 8ms and it's fast, so i guess 3DS screen that is smaller would be even faster..i mean since it is small screen so minor movements and all... Thanks :D

IIRC Nintendo don't release in-depth specifications for products, mostly because they don't see them as an important factor in the overall experience. So the only people who could tell you response time are the manufacturer, who are probably under NDA. Most other people capable of obtaining the information wouldn't be interested enough to waste the time involved in finding out.

Response time is likely to be less than 15ms. An exact figure below that would be irrelevant because no human eye would detect any difference. Size of a dot would be different between the 3DS and 3DS XL models. I agree with Nintendo; technical specifications don't matter much because they are irrelevant to the experience. The specs you're after are even more uninteresting, in my opinion.

Whel, they are to me :) and maybe to someone who is looking for an answer, they could find it here.. and thanks for that bit of info, i appreciate it :)

..and you said "Size of a dot would be different between the 3DS and 3DS XL models" that means 3DS has better picture quality than XL?

Why so..?
Response time was originally a measurement of white-to-black or black-to-white, but GTG is "grey to grey", which, as you can probably guess, means shit. It's more of a measurement of a pixel's reaction to a command than an actual measurement of how fast it changes color.
Example: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236153
"Response time of 2 milliseconds"... grey to grey. They use "GTG" as an abbreviation so that most people don't know the measurement is useless nowadays.

I could go into more, like how the "contrast ratio" on that example is actually "ASUS Smart Contrast Ratio" which is also bullshit (and I've seen other variations for contrast ratio too), but you get the idea.

Companies have figured out how to lie with specs now by presenting other specs with a similar name.purpose (that are actually measuring a different stat). :\

Well, yes... technically. A 3DS XL has the same screen resolution but the screen is larger, meaning a lower pixel per inch ratio. This means each pixel is larger and, therefore, more visible and obvious to the eye. This makes it easier to see jaggies and other image artefacts that may be undetectable on higher ppi screens.

Hm, so i guess both regular size 3DS and 3DS XL have their pros and cons..but all in all they'r both 3DS :D

Thanks ^_^

A lot of people consider the 3DS XL to be akin to the "DS Lite" in that it's got the major flaws fixed, and they go for that one.

so..are you saying that original 3DS is not good (because i'm buying it soon :P ) ? ..can you please point out flaws of original 3DS.. and are that flwas really that bad so you cant play games and enjoy.. i mean, only thing about original DS was dark screen. DS lite got brighter screen that i like a lot, and thicker stylus, but it has poorer sound and its smaller in size for my big hands :P ..original one had better sound and fits in my hands perfectly :yaysp:

early 3ds had a manufacture flaw where the lower screen scratched the upper screen, which are really easy to spot because of the 3d effect...

aside from that one is bigger the other is smaller, some people like to play on bigger screens...

imo in the 3ds xl has a better 3d effect and you can actually appreciate every detail, on the other hand its easier to see the jaggies of the machine

"on the other hand its easier to see the jaggies of the machine" the jaggies? you mean it's easier to see bigger dots on 3DS XL ..sorry if i didn't unterstand you correctly ^_^

Mainly it's that the pixels of the screen are bigger, thus the jagginess of in-game graphics are much more noticeable.

"Jaggies" are the pixelation you see on the edges of 3D objects whenever there is a lack of antialiasing. Many 3DS games lack antialiasing, and so you'll see these "jaggies". And because the 3DS XL's pixels are bigger, they're easier to notice.
Keep in mind that the bigger pixels on the 3DS XL are actually about the same size as the ones on the regular-size DSi, so it shouldn't hurt the visuals too much.

there are many solutions... mines has a screen protector that got already scratched, then you can always store it with a paper in the middle so the screens dont get scratched, finally some people added little bumpers on the sides so the screens dont touch each other
