Square Enix Teases Final Fantasy Versus XIII... With Perfume

No, I am not making this up.

We haven't heard anything more about PS3-exclusive Final Fantasy Versus XIII since reports of its demise were greatly exaggerated this summer. Maybe we should've been sniffing instead of listening. Hidemi Matsuzaka, general manager of the Square Enix figure brand Play Arts Kai, tweeted a picture of a certain new perfume scent today (via Gematsu).

The bottle is labeled Noctis, which (we wouldn't blame you for forgetting this by now) is the name of the prince who is protagonist of Versus XIII. Square Enix has released several Final Fantasy perfumes in the past, including scents for Cloud, Sephiroth, and Lightning. (So I guess they caught Lightning in a bottle after all.)

Now the question of will the resulting advert be quite as mindnumbingly stupid as other stinkwater adverts. Normally *points at Japan* would suffice but stinkwater ads that I have been subject to have had me in stitches/assembling my sniper rifle without thinking so I am not sure what to bet on here.

Development of Versus moved to iOS, it will be a social game with microtransactions and multiple packs of DLC now. Calling it.

I don't know but there's something seriously wrong with Square's internal management when there spending all this money and time on fancy tech demos and games that have been too long in development

the fact that there making ANOTHER sequel to FF13 is just.... WHO IS ASKING FOR THIS?? It's not even the most popular game in the series, Mystic Quest is looked on more favorably then FF13 at this point i mean jesus christ

well IF FF vs 13 does come out, maybe it'll be pretty good, I mean it's not like Square has any cheap fly-by-night developers in china they can outsource it to or is switching teams in general like Duke Nukem or Colonial Marines, at least I hope not... I could be wrong

This was originally announced at the time of the original FF 13.
And has been delayed for many years, and for what its worth, alot of people have been asking for this, for years.

I reckon this will probably become FFXV because Versus XIII has never looked like it has anything to do with the XIII universe so.. why include it as a XIII sequel? Personally I'm still hating on the fact that XI and XIV are full numbered when in my mind they should be FFOnline: I and II
