I have a problem. I want to update to 4.3U from 4.1U...but I can't. My Wii was once 4.3U but I degraded to 4.1U using that one method. Now I want to transfer most of my stuff to my new Wii U. But I got the custom Mario Skin on my Wii. Is there any way I can revert back to 4.3U?

First, make sure you have bootmii in boot2. Stop if you don't have it because dangerous to do anything on a skined system menu.

Make a NAND copy. Then use Modmii to download the following,

* System Menu 4.1U
* IOS 80
* IOS 62
* System Menu 4.3U

Say no to all patching. Then install them using a WAD manager in exact order shown above or below,

* System Menu 4.1U - First
This will remove the Mario Skin

* IOS 80 and IOS 62 - Second and third
Needed IOS for System Menu 4.3U and Wii U transfer

* System Menu 4.3U - Last

Once you done all of that go to Wii Shop Channel and download Wii U transfer channel. You can only transfer legitimate stuff to Wii U (no backup, pirated stuff).

That still doesn't explain why you want to update. It's not going to make any difference.

The shop channel requires an update when I went on. That custom skin made it so I was unable to update my Wii. This meant I couldn't go on the Shop Channel.
No, the skin has nothing to do with it. You just need to update the Shop Channel.

Edit: You will also need to install IOS62 for the transfer tool. All this can be done through ModMii, and none of it has to do with the System Menu.

    also gonna install twilight menu in my r4 flashcard

    One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    I wonder if I could recommend that to some emulation devs that perhaps the sound could use some smoothing out to simulate those old TVs
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way

  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    It's old but it's the best firmware out for DS stuff
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    it says it only works for the original R4, R4i Gold (r4ids.cn), R4iDSN (r4idsn.com) and Acekard R.P.G.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:

  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:

    Just give it a try, but honestly if you have a 3DS you can play DS games without a card just off the internal SD card
