So here we are in 2013 and one thing has not changed: the price of pokemon emerald is still going up. I remember as a kid this game was always expensive, even when it was used and was never on sale. Ive just recently managed to trade someone pokemon black for it, and id recommend picking up one as soon as you can, I think this game is just going to get rarer and more expensive. In a way, this game is like a stock LOL

... Nope, I'm comparing them with my retail cartridges, and they definitely seem legitimate.

I've noticed the factory sealed games are selling between 129.99 and 169.95. Nice..so glad to have one myself. Though I don't really get the graded stuff commanding so much money.

I don't understand it at all myself, I have a bunch of games NIB but to think I could toss them on ebay for $100+ seems unrealistic to me. (Not talking about games from this gen of course lol)

Factory sealed items usually sell for a crapton several years after their initial release, since collectors would want factory sealed ones and there aren't many available.

I guess in a way I can understand it when it comes to disk based games... with my experience on used games. Sometimes you run into some one who has treated the games like I do and they are in mint condition. Then you have people who I swear to God have used the disks as throwing stars playing Ninja Warrior, or put them face down stepped on them and did some spins.

I can walk into a used game store, and buy stacks of Pokemon Emerald, Ruby, and Sapphire games for about $17 each. The fuck would any moron buy them on ebay for, unless they want the box and shit?

Because not every fucking used game store would have em. I would know. I tried. And yea. I do prefer them with box and all.

The second link is definitely fake. The cartridges have a shiny sticker in the front, and ebay has tons of fakes with the plain bland sticker which shows its pretty much bootlegged.

I lived in ap lace for two years that wass 30 miles from the nearest best buy, let alone a used game shop.

Not everybody lives in high-populated areas.

its pretty much understood that if a cartridge based game such as pokemon is coming from hong kong for a good price then its fake, (at least that would be my first assumption) . and the shipping on the first one is almost 16$. there is 12 hours left on it with the bid at around 13$ that would bring you in to the range of OP trading black for one.

Even if a cart is a fake, it doesn't really matter as long as the game plays fine, saves work, and has a RTC. Game stores don't check for fakes when you trade them in anyways. I play Emerald, and Emerald-based rom hacks on my PSPas well as an EZ-Flash III dev cart for my GBA SP. I don't care what hardware I play it on, as long as it works as intended.

But then, if I were to pay for something, I'd personally like it if it were the real deal. Otherwise, I would choose flashcarts over bootlegs. Personal preference.

Plus I've been burnt (not literally LOL) by bootlegs before so I tend to avoid them like the plague.

Well my dev cart has a RTC, and the battery+SRAM is only used for holding the save file between power cycling. Upon restart of the system, the save file is then written to the flash chip.

Don't really see the point in updating it tbh
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Yea you right, I thought about updating my PS3 CFW to 4.91, but why really, everything plays fine now. I guess for people that have already updated past 4.9 it would be helpful.
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Idk if online servers are still active that would be my only thought
    +1
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Thats true, personally I don't play it online at all, in fact, I deleted all wifi details on it once I installed CFW, so it won't connect and auto-update itself
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
I play most games that are on both PS3/360 strickly on the 360, but PS3 exclusives are really only games I play on the PS3 (You know me, I'm more of a Xbox junkie)
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Ps3 really has no titles worth going online

@BigOnYa I had 4.89 hfw on super slim that was great, but when I got a new hard disk I forgot where the guide was and could only find a guide for 4.90 and its resources
  • S @ salazarcosplay:
@BigOnYa I think another reason to want to update is if the hfw is at the level of the fw
  • S @ salazarcosplay:
    you can sync trophies
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Yea that's what I sitting on now- 4.9, and it seems fine, have had no issues at all
