Hey all. I've had this strange phenomenon as of late where my mind will suddenly (and quite uncomfortably) speed up immensely at ungodly hours in the morning, such as at 2, 3, or sometimes 6 AM. The amount of thoughts I go through per 10 seconds goes from my usual 7 or 8 to perhaps 13 or 14. (Pardon if that sounds strange, I'm going through one of these episodes just now, and I'm not sure if that's accurate or not.)

My fast thinking processes are usually one of my greatest strengths, and have assisted me in my gaming, writing, typing, and creative endeavors tremendously. I had just experienced this, and it is wholly unpleasant. If I can't wake up, it gives me this very painful sense of "overheating". I try to wake up if I can, but then I lose a lot of sleep, of course.

I know I must be crazy for posting this in a gaming forum, but, eh...I feel like someone here might know what I'm talking about. Anyone?

Also, as of late, I've been having this strange experience when waking up. I will get the undeniable impression that someone is RIGHT NEXT TO ME whispering something in my ear, though I can never tell what. More than once I've woken up throwing a punch.

As a medical professional, I can say confidently you're possessed.

My mind sort of does that when I enter new places, I feel like I'm taking in everything around me, I have passed out before from that "overheating" feeling.

Sorry, I was just trying to say goodbye.

It kinda sounds like this

I'm not a doctor though, so I really suggest actually going to a doctor about this.

I will wake up in the middle of the night with my mind racing. Not over anything though, like I'll have an odd dream and it'll just be thinking about that at a million miles per hour.

Best thing to do is get up and get a drink or something, just give yourself some time to cool down.

Sometimes when I wake up while listening to music, the music is sped up around 2.5x, and it seriously creeps me out.
Never had this overheating problem, though...

Hmm, I thought this was normal. At least, if I understand you correctly. While my thought process is nothing super speedy or special, when I dream, it's totally different. That is when I remember my dreams... Anyway, I'd advise you to see a psychiatrist. You may have an underlying undiagnosed chemical imbalance like Schizophrenia or Bipolar disorder. I myself am a Bipolar so, yeah...
