New Assassin's Creed revealed. Good news too - no Connor.

The next Assassin's Creed title will take place in a new time period for the franchise, and stars a new protagonist. Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot said the "all-new Assassin's Creed hero, within an all new team and time period" will be "another major leap forward for the franchise" when it releases some time before April 2014.

Apart from the fact it stars a new character (praise be to Talos), and a release date "before April 2014", nothing's known about it. Not even what systems.

EDIT: It might be pirate related: http://www.ign.com/wikis/assassins-creed-4

Eh, I've been getting pretty tired of the Assassin's Creed series. Most of them are tedious and boring.

Unless they change things up a lot, I won't get this one.

I've only played Assassin's Creed 2 (not Brotherhood nor Revelations), and part of Assassin's Creed 3. I just couldn't stand Connor. He's such a dick to Achilles for no reason, and pretty much everyone else he meets. I have a very hard time continuing to play a game where I hate my character, I'm sure most people do too.

The series has shifted from the medieval assassin game to Real Estate Mogul 2K13 in recent years. Like the city building was neat when it was lightly sprinkled but soon the ENTIRE FUCKING GAME just became buying real estate. You're a fucking master assassin, not Donald Trump.

Let's hope the series gets more to its roots, although I haven't played AC3.

All I have to say is "meh". I kinda lost interest after Brotherhood - it was good, great even, but I had no inclination to pick up any of the other sequels. After hearing from a few friends that III put the "ass" in "Assassin's Creed" twice over, I think I made a fine choice.

Big fan of the series, but it's sad that it's slowly being milked to death. Having played all AC games, I still say that II is still the best for story and Brotherhood is for multiplayer (because it was just simplistic)

Can't say I thought any of them were particularly special but I do hope that one day they'll release one that I'd like because I like the concept at least.

Why don't they make a assassins creed rpg? when I beat assassins creed brotherhood, there was no point in playing it anymore.

no character progression, no new weapons, new enemies, no level ups.

just flat out boring. just like god of war, I beat the game once and story, and then I never play it again.

Well, there was no point to play Brotherhood after playing it. Except, you know, the multiplayer.

Not to mention that the campaign for Brotherhood was 20-30 hours long (give or take depending on how much time you devote to side activities).

Sure, there are longer games, but you still get your money's worth from the singleplayer alone.

I got the first game when the second just was released... I enjoyed it a bunch and hasn't gotten around to finish it yet... I was bummed out when I realized I had been searching for all those flags in vain. They don't do anything in-game, and won't give you a trophy or anything (even though they did give achievement thingys on the 360)... They were pointless and I ran around searching for them and wasted time :P

I lost interest though, when all of a sudden there were a gazillion sequels. I would never catch up. I mean, there are now 12 games, (though 2 are iOS exclusive)!! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Assassin's_Creed#Games

I like the first one. I didn't like the second one so much. I had no idea what was going on for most of the game because it didn't require me to pay attention. I just follow the big target on the map and then the game is done. I started Assassin's Creed 3. I hope it's better.

The story wasn't that complicated and it was layered into the game well enough so you understood it. I don't see how it was so confusing unless you kinda blacked out during all the dialogue.

That is pretty much what I did. I don't know... I'm not saying it was terrible or that the story was too complicated. Just not all that interesting.
