This was an unexpected move, I had didn't think Sony would cut them off considering the game had
some success (The Vita version wasn't successful at all for obvious reasons). This happened a few days after Sony laid off some of the employees over at Superbot.
"Sony Computer Entertainment can confirm that the working agreement with developer SuperBot Entertainment has amicably ended," a Sony representative told Kotaku. "We have had a positive working relationship with this talented studio, and wish them the best of success in their next endeavor. PlayStation All-Stars: Battle Royale and the title's forthcoming DLC releases will continue to be fully supported by Santa Monica Studio."

Who are most of the characters in it?
And what makes it any special?
Those were the main points to why it failed,
I'll continue playing Tekken Tag Tournament 2 or Super Smash as my 4 player fighter of choice thanks.

Both the vita and ps3 versions together only sold about 0.5 million, so not very surprising.

not surprised that it sold so poorly; the game was full of disc locked content and pay to play content, not something that anyone would buy especially asking for $60 only for half of the game to not be on the disc.
I hope game developers learn from this, and I also hope that gamers start to vote with their wallet when it comes to practices such as this.

I didn't even know that. They should have know that wouldn't help anything.

I finally got to play it at a store too. I thought the game was alright.

Sony thread?

The game wasn't all that great (saying they dropped the ball on balance would imply they had to begin with), but it was far from horrible. It was just about the gaming equivalent of lukewarm milk. Still, that's just not enough - you flop, you're dropped, evidently.

EDIT: As far as DLC goes, isn't the "locked" content just alternate costumes? It's getting additional characters for free, and that's the only thing that really matters.

I played the beta a while back.
It wasn't that good but at the same time not bad either.
I'm still going to buy it but not for the $60 price tag.
