Big Playstation announcement coming February 20th

Sony have launched a new countdown for a big Playstation announcement coming February 20th.

While the site (available below) doesn't show much outside of a vague teaser video, many sites are speculating that this is the reveal of the next Playstation console. However, this would contradict recent statements that Sony would wait for Microsoft to make the first move when it comes to the next generation of consoles.

Whatever it is, Sony will be livestreaming the event on February 20th at 6pm EST.

On a serious note, this could very well be something to do with the streaming capabilities or PSN in general. On the other hand, it could just as well be some mayor update for the PS3/Vita. Looking forward to it.

How dare you insinuating that Sony might be ripping off Nintendo on the Nintendo Direct idea, which is arguably one of the best innovative moves in the company's recent history ?

Don't you know that Sony was working on their Sony Direct idea waaay before Nintendo stole it and made it popular ?

On a second thought...I bet they will announce that now you will be able to stream PS3 games to the Vita and play it on Vita's screen within your house !!

The thing is dead worldwide. 3M in one year, it's been tracking lower than dreamcast for many months and that was only based on Japenese DC sales. Lol

I assume it'll either be related to the PS4 or perhaps a pricecut/new redesign of the Vita. Either way its peaked my interest a bit.
