I am having an issue with accessing DLC in EmuNAND channels. Games which had DLC enabled before transferring to EmuNAND don't have them, and within the EmuNAND it's unable to connect to download more. Is there a way to get DLC to work in EmuNAND?

Additionally: Although I can see saved games in the EmuNAND from before transferring, I cannot see these new saved games when loading them in NAND nor can the NAND see saved games from the EmuNAND. Is there a way to have the EmuNAND only use the true NAND for it's saved games?

Would it be possible for me to transfer just a single item from real NAND to EmuNAND? I know how to backup the entire NAND and transfer it all, but I don't know how to take a single item from one and copy it to the other. It would help me to try and troubleshoot the issue of DLC not showing up.

Will DLC eventually work with USB Loader GX? Or do I need to switch? What is Neek2o? It looks like most of the errors I am getting with games comes from the DLC corrupting.

Just now I tried "Family Card Games" and when I loaded it I get a message: "Family Card Game's add-on content is corrupted. After deleting Family Card Game's add-on content from the Data Management screen..." which is good because in other games it just affects performance, but since there is no "Data Management Screen" in EmuNAND it is unplayable.

In "My Life as King" almost all the DLC works, but the "Infinity Spire" doesn't so when you hover over it on the map it freezes up. In "My Life as a Dark Lord" it works perfectly only because it doesn't show up.

I think all the compatibility problems with EmuNand can be resolved if either all DLC is removed or DLC is made to work correctly.

Workaround can be to install dlc beforehand on your emunand.

I did that, I just didn't buy DLC for every game I had at the time of making the EmuNAND. With USB Loader GX 3.0 I can neither buy more DLC or use the DLC I already paid for.

So anyway, I was able to find and install UNEEK and I was able to get it to run and I can actually play with the DLC, but the load times are so bad - more than 5 minutes each time I try to load it up, and if I try to leave a game with the home button and select "Wii Menu" the black screen hangs for 10 minutes and I end up turning it off.

Isn't there some kind of cache that can be set up to quicken load times? Even when I removed all items but one (just to see if it was the number of items) from the EmuNAND it takes just as long to load.

And also, as I asked about here, I can't find any instructions on how to install revisions for Neek2o.

EDIT: I tried using "Back to Nand", but that was just as slow. Is there a .wad that restarts the Wii? That would be faster.

Idk about that neek2o shit, but i have DLC running in channels fine via USB loader GX via a cIOS.

Just install DLC to the NAND (either through a wad, or through the software the DLC is for)

After that, use USB Loader GX to dump full NAND to emunand (set both EmuNAND paths in custom paths to the channels path to ensure the Nand is dumped to the right location)

Finally, test the DLC in the software you set it up for.

Works fine for me, even works for Disk games, like samba de amigo, for example. I use d2x v9 r49 still, btw.

I do have the DLC installed to the NAND. That is half the issue.

I was able to get them fully working under Neek2o and I can use "Snort 48+" to organize the titles, but the loading time is crazy long just to enter Neek2o and exiting a game just doesn't work. I get a perpetual black screen that lasts more than 15 minutes so have to turn the wii off. When I load into it there is a wait of around 5 minutes, but loading the games from Neek2o are very quick.

I can still see the titles under USB Loader GX 3.0, but DLC is broken when I load them through there. For example, I can't play "Family Card Games" at all under USB Loader GX because it things the DLC is corrupted, but have no problem loading the same EmuNAND game under Neek2o and it is working perfectly there which indicates that there is nothing wrong with my DLC bring installed properly.

The issue now is this: How do I either increase the speed of loading up Neek2o, or how do I get USB Loader GX to recognize the DLC of games.

allow me to elaborate.
My EmuNAND contains both the channels, and the DLC. The method I use to get anything to my EmuNAND is to install it to the NAND, and then fully dump the Nand. That process irons out any potential snags that could happen when installing directly to EmuNand. That DLC corrupt error sounds to me to be a result of one of those snags.

That DLC corrupt thing MAY be fixed if you do as follows.

Install both the WiiWare and the DLC on the Real NAND (preferrably by downloading via Wii Shop and through in-game DLC downloader.)

Opening USB Loader GX, going to settings>custom paths> and setting both the EmuNAND saves path and EmuNAND channels path to the desired location for the channels to go.

Going to settings>features> and choosing Dump NAND to EmuNAND, and choosing to dump Everything.

After that is finished, go into settings>loader settings> and setting Nand Channels Emulation to Full. Also, you can set your EmuNAND Saves Path back to whatever it was before, if you want.

But it's not corrupt. If it was corrupt why would it work perfectly in another loader? I followed all those steps you just described already the first time.

As for dumping NAND with USB Loader GX I tried doing something similar to that with saves... didn't work. At least not with Wiiware games. There is an option for saves and an option for Miis, but I don't see anything transferring. Saves I make on my NAND do not get copied to EmuNAND incrementally, at least not with the Wii Ware games.

Like I said, I already did that when I set up the EmuNAND. And also like I said: It works PERFECTLY outside of USB Loader GX. It's definately not corrupt. I can easily go back and forth between USB Loader GX and Neek2o now and in one it works while the other it doesn't. It can't possibly be an issue of my folders being corrupt in that scenario.

DLC is listed with save games on the Wii along with WiiWare saves. When I choose the "Export all saves to EmuNAND" I would at least expect WiiWare saves to be transferred, but they don't and I can't find an option to do that.

Due to compatibility isseus of d2x cios, online functions are not to be expected to work 100%.

Neek2o is NOT a loader. This programm completely emulates the Wii system while having acces to Wii harware.
If you have problems with loading times with neek2o, it's probably because you have formatted you drive not according the advised cluster size.

Only first time loading should take this long, all loading after that should be on par with original hardware.
Also it could be that you used the same NAND dump as you did with usbl gx. This is NOT advised as both work in different ways.
Use a fresh emunand made with modmii if you are going the Neek2o way, install wads in batch using showmiiwads.

I tried that too just last night, but I didn't improve speed any. That's a good point on the differences though so I can create a separate NAND for USB Loader GX 3.0 Wii Saves in the nand folder and redo the EmuNAND again.

Could part of my slow down be related to not having any revisions installed? I still can't find out where to put those files. And also, my USB hard drive is 1 TB formatted FAT32. What cluster size would it have to be? Unfortunately I will have to wait until I can buy a new hard drive to test that change because I have no place to put the files currently on it during a reformat, but I plan on getting one in a month or so. It would be good to know.

EDIT: I went to create a fresh NAND backup through BootMii, but it's just a black screen now. It started after I installed UNEEK. I went to download just the BootMii files, but I can only find an installer for it. I have a backup of my SD card somewhere, but why did that happen?

I followed your suggestion and I did see a significant speed improvement. First I deleted the EmuNAND and made a fresh extraction, then made a copy of this extraction. One EmuNAND I put in the NAND folder on the SD card (for Wii saves) and configured USB Loader GX 3.0 to point to it before doing anything else (so it wouldn't ever touch the EmuNAND for games) and then set up a separate EmuNAND for WiiWare games.

The loading time for Neek2o is now 31 seconds, which isn't bad at all. Unfortunately, when trying to return to the Wii Menu from a game it hangs on a black screen indefinitely (I assume that it would at least take me to the Neek Wii Menu) and the "Back to NAND" .wad file ended up being just as bad making it faster to turn off the Wii and turn it back on. Is there a way to get some .wad to go back to the wii menu? And what about the home button options? Are they just broken within Neek2o?

Also, in USB Loader GX I am seeing some strange ghost objects in the new EmuNAND - pictures of games, when no games at all are in it (deleting through ShowMiiWads) and removing the cache file didn't help... is there a way to delete objects or titles within USB Loader GX 3.0?

EDIT: After adding all my games to the EmuNAND (first time was just "Snort45+") it took 1 minute and 45.8 seconds (according to my stopwatch) the last time I loaded it and around that long for the first time with those items as well. Does it have to exit in some particular way for it to cache the titles? Because it's obvious that the slow down is related to the number of titles it is loading which indicates that they are not being cached properly.

EDIT 2: A few times loading up Neek2o results in the Wii turning off instead of loading. Why?

use uneek2o for now.. sneek2o source isn't synced with latest revs yet and is currently unsupported in revs after r80.

The newer uneek2o revs have tons of fixes for ww/vc games and dlc and loading times are much better

All I can honestly say is DLC is cirtainly possible with standard cIOS based EmuNAND. neek2o is superior to cIOS based EmuNAND in functionality and compatability but cIOS EmuNAND is faster and more convienent to load games through. If you somehow do end up going with the cIOS based EmuNAND, then use a combination of a regular wad manager/wii shop channel and the NAND dump function of USB Loader GX to achieve the desired list of games in the best compatibility possible with cIOSEmuNAND.

I have over 60 titles installed to just my one EmuNAND on my USB Device, including WiiWares with DLC, so i cirtainly know it's possible.

Yes, go to settings for the title, and delete them via the uninstall menu.

Do you have a link to uneek2o? When I search for it nothing comes up. Google asks me "Do you mean neek2o?" and below that some artist information. I was able to find a "Uneek" channel, but that just loaded up BootMii when I launched it.

If there is a version with bug fixes I definitely want to use it. The Neek2o channel shuts off the Wii too often and does it in a way that I don't always know it.

As for revisions, where exactly do they go? I was able to find absolutely no documentation as to where even Neek2o revisions are supposed to go.

All I can honestly say is DLC is cirtainly possible with standard cIOS based EmuNAND. neek2o is superior to cIOS based EmuNAND in functionality and compatability but cIOS EmuNAND is faster and more convienent to load games through. Oh, I totally agree that it is much faster and I very much liked the convenience of it being in the same place as my Wii and Gamecube games, but even if it is possible for DLC to work with USB Loader GX I couldn't get it to work - at least not with the titles I have. I really do hope that someday it will have full compatibility.

When that time comes, or if I decide I want to test it again in some future revision, would there be a way to have a separate EmuNAND for WiiWare channels/saves as the EmuNAND I would use for Wii Saves? Because at this point that is what I have set up and the main barrier to trying to use USB Loader GX for those titles again would be the prospect of loosing either my Wii saved games or my Wiiware saved games.

Yes, go to settings for the title, and delete them via the uninstall menu.

Thank you! With that I am able to clean up those "Ghost Objects" successfully from the Wii Save EmuNAND!
