no. on the ds, all you get is: catch all pokemon in one game and here everyone got l100 legendaries even random trainers.

it may be a better idea to try another monster raising game like dragon quest monster joker 1/2 or devil survivor or digimon dusk/dawn

Nah, everyone's just biding their time. Believe me, significant progress has been made beyond "catching" and "trainers" for DS games; it's just that making a hack is VERY time consuming. The whole process of creating an extensive DS ROM hack has yet to be dumbed down so that even a script kiddie can do it.

The DS pkm hacking scene is tiny compared to the GBA scene. Slowly but surely, more hacks will come.

as long as they cant edit maps, pokemonhacks will be 99% of the same stuff i've been doing for the last 5 years. hunting every pokemon and battling trainers on steroids.

its pretty much the same hack that has been done for the ds games since ancient diamond and pearl times with a hand full of events slapped into it. and while not bad, they neither really give nor take from the experience
Well, I am playing the game right now; it's okay. But once again, GBA hacking is less complicated than hacking a DS game, but he was asking for DS Pokemon hacks, which I really haven't seen anywhere lately that are completely different. However, he could try Pokemon Aqua Sapphire, but by the looks of it, it hasn't been released yet.

This was originally a rom hack of Pokemon Ruby for GBA, but the person who made it got his team back together and is remaking it over Pokemon HeartGold for NDS. It seems that the NDS hacking scene is improving greatly. Pokemon Light Platinum is no doubt one of the best GBA hacks and now they are remaking with even more stuff to experience on NDS.

i guess its still the same a year ago. the only finished hacks are difficulty and catching stuff, maybe with a textedit here or there.
while the tools might have evolved and the possibilities are greater by now, the projects that are still around will take a few more years, if they ever get finished at all

One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I wonder if I could recommend that to some emulation devs that perhaps the sound could use some smoothing out to simulate those old TVs
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way

  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
