Our sister site Filetrip, the public download center and file sharing/upload website, just received a massive update bringing another bunch of new exciting features. We are working hard to make Filetrip one of the best upload sites on the web!

Filetrip is now the only website (or one thereof) supporting direct streaming of DivX videos and all other known formats: MKV, AVI, MP4, WMV... This was made possible thanks to the integration of the DivX web player plugin which is compatible with all operating systems and web browsers. Users who upload MKV files will even be able to enjoy multi-track audio and subtitles!

Comments site wide are now powered by Disqus, an increasingly popular discussion system that allows you to log in with every possible account (Facebook, Twitter, Google+, etc.) making comment posting and discussion a lot more enjoyable! Comments are now also available on personal uploads as well as galleries and folders.

A lot of other improvements were brought to the site code. Firstly, the search bar now allows you to search through your personal uploads as well as folders and galleries. The 'My uploads' page has also been slightly redesigned to bring additional features which will make managing and browsing through your files easier than ever. Finally, more storage servers have been added, increasing the overall bandwidth and making it possible to download at faster speed and stream videos more smoothly!

If you haven't started using Filetrip yet, what are you waiting for?

Thank you so much, Filetrip has been helping me all the time, its so useful :)

I do miss the points we would get by downloads we could trade tho :/

I just hope Filetrip will handle my Facebook account as well as GBATemp, I hate when apps publish on facebook when you're not on, thank god GBATemp doesn't do that.

When it comes to Facebook integration, there is nothing special:
1) you can log in with Facebook, but after you're logged in, there is no interaction with your Facebook account
2) you can "like" or "shares" files, but that is done independently from point #1. It is implemented by a 3rd party site ("AddThis", a widespread widget)

DivX playback probably will encourage more people to upload movies/anime which most of time are copyrighted.
I've seen enough filehost shutdown because of this.

so now we're pushing people to allow uploading of pirated movies... just saying Costello I thought this cloud storage was just for personal use not allowing for pirated content
Neither Costello nor GBAtemp ever advocated the uploading of pirated content at all.

On the other hand, this is great news! Filetrip has surpassed all other major upload services such as Google Drive, Dropbox etc. by far!

so yeah there's already anime and naruto uploaded videos and I'm pretty sure that whoever uploaded them is not the copyright holder just saying so people are already violating the TOS

I would agree, if they had a client like Dropbox/Google Drive. One you can install, and handle just like a normal folder.
That's what makes their clients more accessible than Filetrip.

The major problem is it being distributed and or being reported?
We need a specific reports that are clear and helpful. We can't just go around deleting people's files all willy-nilly without a reason.
The best thing you can do is report them and to be really helpful if you know the site they are from, link that in the report so we know that they are being distributed illegally. Otherwise there is really nothing we can do about them.
