Staff edit- The original OP was corrupting posts so Guild gets to be OP now.

The Sony CEO has stated the PS Vita, successor to the PSP which also struggled to get as solid a footing as Nintendo's handheld lines has said the Vita "has sold on the low end of expectations". Though not a tacit admission of failure it is a masterwork in diplomatic phrasing and does not paint all that bright a picture.

"on the low end of what we expected"
I have been known to phrase things delicately, or at least I thought I had, but it seems I still have a lot to learn.

@Lurker2 you seem especially put out about having to type a line or two up at the moment. Though some may not care a bit of light analysis or an amusing aside is always welcome.

I kind of like Lurkers intro, because it truly is fitting. Although, after submitting about seven 'news' threads, it would be a good idea to not just copy/paste  Keep up the good work.

Well duh. If those sales were expected they never would've made the device in the first place.

Since we're talking in diplomatic way, I would like to point out that the Vita uses his mouth to draw (liquid) by movements of the tongue and lips that create suction

Putting the obvious Vita low sales aside, Sony is really passing through a crisis. They're even selling one of their buildings in Japan to make up for low sales of electronics goods, mostly because of competition from Samsung and other korean/chinese companies, Sony's future doesn't seem too bright after all, huh.

Sony little by little finally telling people this thing flop it was one of the biggest flop of 2012 not only that but the hit it will take this October i don't want to even see those sales numbers Apart from wipeout, nothing on the Vita is playable for more than maybe 10-20 seconds, just a graphics demos really bad ones

this in noway is good news none wants a single handheld monopoly cuz them Nintendo will think they can get away with anything

It sold bellow the expectations, but it still is the best hardware that I ever hold in my hands.

It is not selling just for 2 reasons: lack of good games and high price.
best hardware sell this dint so is not a best hardware it seems ;)

just a neutral opinion

It's funny, this news kind of mirrors the predicament the Wii U finds itself in at the moment.

Invariably both systems will be fine in the end, and after all when a system has the "highest rated handheld game ever released", it's certainly not going to be struggling to exist indefinitely.
