Hacking My R4 may not be real, help me get it working please

I bought the R4 from here and only joined this forum to get an answer

I want it to play some backup rom files, some converted videos, some emulated gbc, and music.

Does anyone have any experience with getting this thing working so that I can get it working?

What about moonshell?

Everything I've installed so far worked well aside for a few things: Music, dpg files, and the touchscreen....

No i just don't use my DS for media.

If you want to use Moonshell as the main kernel, you should try out MAIO. It uses Moonshell as the front loader and boots roms through Wood R4.

What is the URL on the card, better yet does Wood R4 work on it?

R4 wood loads on it, what do you mean the url on the card?

There should be a URL near the bottom of the card, if there isn't, then card is a 1.1 clone of the R4. Which means it's pretty much the same hardware as the original R4, just in a different shell.

Since it works with Wood R4, that pretty much confirms that it's a 1.1 clone.

retrogamefan's kernel does not require moonshell, but it does give you compatibility to any rom.

Wood R4 has the same compatibility as Retro's files.

Wood and the Retro files are for loading DS games.

Moonshell is for viewing pictures, music, and some video.
