R4ids.cn has released a new patch and it worked on my revision 9 :D I can now play online on Mario Kart 7 :)
Did they remove the old patch from the download page? Because there's only one 4.5.0 patch.

Looking at the "last changed" date (today), and the file size, it seems to be the new patch. Gonna try it in a minute.

I get Card check Fail with the new update as well.

Yeah, they removed the previous update, the new update still works for newer cards and few older cards. The Metroid Prime Demo cards are still blocked unfortunately

Add another...
Rev 9, Metroid Logo.
No updates including todays work either.
Tried all NDSL and NDSi on all handhelds.
Fail.

I have the Rev. 9 with Metroid icon, previous patch from last month would not work, kept getting "fail".
Donloaded todays update, ran it on my DSL and it works!!!
Updated 3ds to 4.5.0 and works perfect!
Icon is now with chineese lettering and says "Konami Digital Entertainment" below it.

How do you identify what revision your card is? And does it matter if you run the update on a DS Lite or a DS Phat?

CORRECTION, my cart is actually a Rev. 9, originally had the Dorasu icon, updated to Metroid Demo and now todays patch upgraded to a Chineese Icon.

If you look at the connections on your cart, the last connection all the way to the right has a number or letter at the top, might need a magnifying glass to read it if your older like me :)

Mine came with Dorasu and has the letter C but this patch won't work for my card. So odd that this fixes, according to their site, at least some C,A, and 9 cards but not all. I even used a different microSD to be extra sure that wasn't the problem.

Just updated my revision 9 successfully :yaynds:
This means i won't have to order a revision C anymore.

The R4i Gold from r4ids.com also got an update.

Hi guys, new to the scene. Big into the 360 scene. I bought an r4i 3ds gold card for my son and it has a 3 on the back meaning a revision 3. Does this make sense? I also have the Metroid icon and haven't had success if I'm installing properly.

Colin Gill, Rev 3 is simply not supported by any of their recent patches. They did just release a patch that works for A and 9 carts (some C), so there's at least a little hope we could get a patch in the future that fixes more carts.

I like electronics that use detachable cables, that way if the cable breaks you can just swap in a new one instead of replacing the whole unit

the L hdmi adapters work great on my tv and receiver. so much less stress on the ports using them than regular cables. in that instance anyway.

  • RedColoredStars @ RedColoredStars:
i dont know why tv manufactures put the hdmi ports in dumb locations so the cables have to stick out, and then down, putting strain on the ports. Instead of having the ports along the bottom edge of the tv facing downwards.
