I've been doing a bit of eBay shopping recently, and got a nice deal on 2 Wii U games from separate sellers and won both auctions. The first one went through without a hitch, as I paid for it yesterday and got it today. The second, however, is problematic. Upon trying to pay for the item, I'm met with this error message.

"***'s PayPal account is unable to accept your payment at this time."

Seeing as it suggest I contact the seller to get this all sorted out, I went and did just that. That was this morning at about 7am, a little after the auction ended. It is now 10pm at night, and no response, even after attempting to contact the seller a second time around 3pm. The seller's history shows 100% positive feedback, and the last transaction to happen with the seller involved them buying an item on December 16th, so there was some activity happening. I don't think it's on my side as I was able to pay for the item just prior to this one. I'm usually a patient guy, but not when there's a problem and nothing is being done.

What should I do? Should I just wait and hope for a response?

Probably, it does sound as though it would be on their end if it specifically mentions their account. A day is not very long considering it. Wait until tomorrow and see if there is a response. :)

Think of it this way: What if his account did accept your payment and something happened where he was unable to send the game or contact you for a few days? Wouldn't that be worse if you paid and weren't given any activity for your bought item being sent?

i'd bet he doesn't have a premium account or whatever they call it nowadays to accept credit cards, you could try first adding the amount into your account and then using that paypal balance to pay should work if that is the problem.

But that's just it. The money is in my Paypal account.

Contacted Paypal to see if they can do something about this. What I got was kinda odd. They said they would unlink my Paypal account from eBay, then have me wait a day for it to clear, and then have me attempt to pay again, but log into Paypal when reviewing the payment. I'm not sure why they think it is on my end that the problem resides and not on the seller's side, even after I explained to them that I had just made a payment using eBay+Paypal 2 days earlier with no problem.
