AMD A10-5800 Trinty 129.99
8GB 1866 DDR3 60ish
LG Blu Ray Burner 50ish
MicroATX case with a Fan and PSU already in. 40ish
A very cheap Gigabyte MB with USB 3.0 60ish
It was around $350 with shipping minus the OS disc I needed. If you want it cheaper just get a DVD drive or no drive

Nice, you got a great price for them specifications, I'll look into it thanks

Intel i3 2100 running at 3.10GHZ
8GB of RAM
Around 5TB of HDD space on 4 different HDD.
GeForce GTX 650
700W PSU
Cheapish MSI motherboard, but it gets the job done.

Not counting the GPU and the HDDs, this rig cost me $280 to build including a case. The GPU was $75 (received as a christmas present, replacing a GeForce 440GT that was originally in the build). This thing has played everything I've thrown at it with medium-high settings with the old 440 and max/high settings with the 650.

EDIT: I don't really had a dream build though TBH. Hell, replace my current build with a 1000W PSU, an i7, and a GTX 680 and I'd be set.

For about 250 I build a decent machine capable of running Planetside 2 at about 25-35 fps and hawken at 35-40 fps, I kept my hd's and dvd burner from my old pc.
I have AMD Phenom x2 quad core at 2.6 ghz
Asus M5A78l-mlx mobo
8 Gb Crucial Ballitix DDR3
Nvidia 9600gso 512 (got for 26 dollars used) great card for the price.
480w psu and 3 case fans
If I overclock my graphics card I can increase my fps in both games by about 20 fps.

Plays everything on max settings 1080p, 60fps, other than AA and AF which are almost useless on 1080p gaming.

I win the thread.

i7 2600k @ 4.5 GHz
Sapphire Radeon 7850 2 GB @ 1150/1400
8 GB DDR3 RAM
Seasonic 620 W 80 PLUS Bronze efficiency PSU
Some random dell motherboard

I only want more ram and a better motherboard. The rest of my PC is fine. Probably an ASUS or AsRock z77 board.

gigabyte mobo
i5 @ 2.8 ghz
16 gb ram, slomo (cheapest)
nvidia geforce gtx 670 2 gb @ 980 mhz (mem 1500 mhz)
sb x-fi platinum

Dream:
Intel® Core i7-3970X Extreme
16-32 gb ram at highest frequency possible
16 fastest SSDs perhaps ocz in raid each 1 tb each. so like 4 raided for main disk (windows will be on this), 4 for music disk, 4 for game disk, 4 for music app disk.
That way I have 1+1+1+1 terrabyte ala 4 tb.
Latest creative sound card, plus a hi-end studio sound card, preferable internal, but okay with external aswell. VERY low latency, and hi quality is requirement.
Fattest nvidia or amd gfx card in crossfire/sli. - 2X 690 GTX or 2X HD 7950. Preferable the nvidia onces. Either way, I want custom coolers which are super silent.
A motherboard which handles super many ssd and the processor
A case which can room all the ssds and still not weight beyond oblivion.

That's surprisingly doable. Sure, 1TB SSDs cost 2 grand each, and the extra Sata controllers also cost a lot, and most will not run full speed, but its doable.
