You're better off ignoring that particular door, trust me on that one.
Well shit am I atleast in the right place? Is it in that area of the palace? I found a grate on the floor in the previous room but couldn't get through. But before I died I also noticed ladders going up the scaffolding in that fire room.

You'll have to use the scaffolding to get past the fire. If memory serves me correctly you have to go up the ladder (be wary of the zombie that's up there) and take the left side (facing the wall). Careful though, because there are quite a few zombies in the area after that (lure them into the fire, it'll kill all of them quite quickly, except for the armored ones). After that, you're almost past Buckingham Palace (for now).
As for the grate, you can open it later, from the other side
I'ts worth going to that room, because it also contains a bigger backpack. You're also quite close to the crossbow

Edit:
By the way, it might be worth mentioning that the bunker has another pistol, but this one has a silencer. That way you can draw out the zombies one at a time, which might make things easier on you. I can't quite remember the easiest route to get there, but you have to go past a stairwell and into a toilet with a corpse and the gun.

I run up to the fire room and got bored of dying and angry at the difficulty. (and like ShadowSoldier, I'm bad at the controls, and FPS in general. a mouse would be easier to control than analog stick.)

I don't know if starting a new game will help.
Either you manage to get it in survival mode, only one character surviving and keeping all your items, upgrading your character's stats (but only stats of the guns?)
Either you will loose everything again at some point and will be angry again, and you would have restarted the game for nothing.

why the player doesn't wear police's helmet, or armored protection to protect against bites?
they should have allowed the player to change equipment, not only improve guns stats (that you lost when you die, and can't get again as you don't have the weapon anymore).

I may try that game again, it's just frustrating that you keep dying and loosing everything.

I started over, I'm doing a bit better. Haven't died yet, and I've been storing my stuff, and using the gun a little bit to level it up.

Tips for combat!
Isolated Regular Zombie
Method of killing #1: Shove, hit with bat, repeat. While they cannot defend against this tactic, if you shove them toward other idle zombies you may be asking for trouble. Remember to scan/scout an area before initiating combat.
Method of killing #2: Fire a crossbow bolt at their head for a sustainable and risk-free method of killing regular zombies.

Special properties: None.

Horde of Regular Zombies
Method of killing #1: Don't have enough supplies or ammo to deal with them? Throw a flare and run.
Method of killing #2: Throw a flare, let them approach it, and then throw a molotov at them. Grenades, while effective, are more suited to dealing with Armored Zombies.
Method of killing #3: If you don't have flares/molotovs, or you are just swimming in ammo, funnel the horde into a thin corridor. This way, if you shove one of them, you will likely shove the others back too. Aim for the head!
Special properties: None.

Armored Zombie
Method of killing #1: Remove their helmet with the cricket bat, shove them, and then shoot their head with any weapon.
Method of killing #2: Throw a flare, let them approach it, and then throw a grenade at them. Alternatively, place a mine, then throw a flare at the deployed mine.
Special properties: These Zombies have a general defense buff against all melee damage, including when their helmet has been removed. They are also immune to fire.

Explosive Zombie
Method of killing #1: Aside from ammo conservation this zombie is the reason you must take careful shots with firearms. Do not shoot anywhere beneath the chin of this zombie if you are within close proximity. If you are a terrible shot, use the bat if possible. Alternatively, and more reliably, shove them then retreat and then fire a single pistol round at their body. If other zombies are nearby, they will also be killed.
Method of killing #2: If they appear alongside a horde, kite the horde. After perhaps 10 seconds of kiting they will be nicely blended with the horde, allowing for a single bullet to wipe out the lot of them.
Special properties: If a firearm is used on any other region aside from their head, they will violently explode. Can instantly kill a survivor if within close proximity.
Added spoilers in case people didn't want some of the enemies revealed.

Underneath Buckingham Palace, the researcher there will give you a syringe that you can use when a zombie has you by the throat. While you can only do this once (it kills them), you can refill this on most dead zombies.
I agree it would be easier if your character could pick up a full-armor suit from Buckingham palace...but the game would become a chore then. ;)

let me just say this.. I'm confident that this game is meant to be played again.. once you beat the game and start over, you will feel slightly like a bad ass... everything just clicks a LOT better.. the first run through is ROUGH no doubt, but there is such a feeling of accomplishment in this game.. and it being hard is FAIR.. there are a TON of ways to kill zombie's... best system launch game, hands down!

I've been watching a lot of reviews about this game on YouTube, by like IGN, GameSpot, GameTrailers and others, and everybody says it's not good. I honestly believe this is going to be one of the games the reviewers got wrong.

Did you get the chance to play Trine2?

I've read review saying the game is too slow paced/character moving slowly.
I didn't play Trine or Trine2 yet.

Can you play it solo, or is it better with multiplayer? (I think up to 3 online players can play co-op)
Would you recommend it?

I played it yeah. I don't know how far I'm in though as everything is basically one seemless stream. It's fun, some of the puzzles are hard. It's really not that slow at all. I'd recommend it, but I only got it when it was on sale, it's up to you if you want to pay the few extra dollars.

So I'm actually stuck at this one door. It's a safe door after entering buckingham palace after travelling through the flats (think disco party). And there's this safe that has a weird symbol on the door, and on the painting in the room is this painting of numbers that is either

7803 or 7603. Me and my mom can't figure it out, it looks like it's 7603. Can anybody help me? I can't figure this puzzle out, as there's like streaks of paint going out of the room and everything.

I remember that one. The brick lane flats, right?

A small note before opening the spoiler: this place has two doors with a special opening mechanic. One you'll need now, and one you'll need much later in the game.

This one's for the one you'll need now:
IIRC, after that disco is a large room with lots of furniture that makes the room look like a maze with small walls (though your character can only very occasionally cross over anything). Get to the other side of that room - it may be that you have to crawl to an air shaft - and you'll find a piece of wall with the right side of that raven on it. The left half is on the edge of another wall. What you'll have to do is stand on the position where you can see those two pieces directly next to each other (forming the full raven), and scan. That'll open a door or reveal a code of some kind with which you can get to the room that scientist wants you to go to.

...but you're most likely standing at the other door with a key lock (and I admit this was VERY frustrating...I had to search for videos how to do this):
This is more in the warehouse. There's that room with a vague picture of that raven, and you'll probably found out that if you stand in the next room, you can see numbers somewhat align with the scribblings on the glass. My advice: ignore those numbers. You'll need to stand on the RIGHT side of the windowed room and focus on completing the image of that raven (similar to the previous one, but much harder to see until you actually solved it). If you scan on the correct spot, it'll reveal the code. And I know I got a bit angry because I'm pretty sure there was a nine in there which I really couldn't make out just by looking at the wall and the glass.

Oh, and behind this door, you'll find one of Dee's letters. This is one of the following requests of that scientist: collect seven of those letters in places you've already visited. The Brick lane appartments was IMO the hardest to find. Unfortunately, this isn't a sidequest.

I have been playing ZombiU for about 4 days now and I have say it's one of the better Zombie games that I have played in recent years. It's not the best one, but compared to the shit we have been getting, it stands out.

I find the problems it does have (for me personally there is very little to loot, like not even the trash cans have anything in them,) but that is often outweighed by some of the better aspects of the game, like how it's both genuinely scary and fun.
The only critic on trusted on this game was Yahtzee, because unlike most of the other critics out there, I am pretty sure he's the only one who actually knows what he's talking about.

I have not played Trine 2 yet, but I should be getting it next week.

How do you compare ZombiU in greatness compared to Resident Evil 4?
Sure, they're a bit different games, but they both involve killing zombies :P

Sure, they're a bit different games, but they're both "zombie shooters".
ZombiU isn't a shooter. Perhaps if there was 10 to 20 times as much ammo in the game, then yeah...it would've been a shooter. But as it is, I'd say zombiU is as much a "zombie shooter" as plants vs zombies.

I'm not Catboy, but personally, I never got the hype for resident evil 4 (never played an earlier version either). As such, I'd say zombiU is LOTS better...but it's probably best to ask someone who actually liked RE4.

Do you mean the tower (the room with the armoured suits)? becauseI can't remember having to return to Buckingham Palace until way later in the game.

If you do mean the tower, you have to scan a case in the right (when facing the weapon) corner of the room, that'll give you the ability to read the anggelic language.

You really can't compare them, plus the zombies in RE4 weren't really zombies, they were people infected with a parasite. So not really living dead as more of zombified people.

Either way, I would personally say ZombiU is the better game. RE4 was ok, but it was more action based and wasn't actually very scary. ZombiU is a true survival horror game, which focused less on the action and more on surviving, which is something that sets it apart from pretty much all survival horror games, especially recent one.

No. It's after you go through the flats to get John Dee's thing, and then you gotta fall out of a chute to escape the building. Then you go back to the palace and there's this safe door that has writing on it kind of like a hexagram. And to the left of the door in the background is a painting that has stuff written on it when looked through the prepperpad. And following the trails of paint from the door up stairs lead to more paintings that have the same stuff written on it, I can't figure it out.

I think I know what you mean, it's in the bunker right? I don't think you can open that door just yet. If memory serves me correctly you'll need to learn the Eunochian alphabet to read the code. At this point in the game you have to return the book to the doc, and return to the hideout and look at the CCTV to get new instructions.

Hmm, alright. I couldn't figure it out at all. Maybe I'll leave a note for other players so they don't waste their time on it lol.
