It'll come out in other regions. I'd be incredibly surprised if this, SMB2, and various other NES releases weren't done and waiting to be trickled out.

StarTropics comes to mind, as does anything NES related on Wii VC. And while I can fire up the originals, or emulate them via PSP/DS/Android Phone/Magic Super Powers, I'd probably plunk down the 5 bucks just to have it on the 3DS too. After all, the 3DS is my go-to system for at work/on the toilet, (at least until I end up with a Wii U, and then that'll be the toilet gaming system)

That's the stupidiest thing I ever read. //No it's not. What's stupid is paying one square quadrillion times for the exact same game on different platforms.
1st) It's illegal //Specify where, because that's not universal.
2nd) The 3DS screen resolution is much more appropriated to NES emulation. //I'll give you that one mostly because emulating anything on the DS is a bad idea. I was thinking more along the lines of the almighty emulation beast that is the PSP... or your average smartphone.
3rd) 3DS is a lot more powerful than DS, turning it better to emulation in many aspects. //See above.

How many times have you payed for the same damn game.
I never payed twice for a game

Specify where, because that's not universal.

Unless you already have a original copy of that game, that's piracy.

I'll give you that one mostly because emulating anything on the DS is a bad idea. I was thinking more along the lines of the almighty emulation beast that is the PSP... or your average smartphone.

Well, he said on a DS. And the fact is, if you want to play a NES game on a 3DS you have only two options:
Emulate it through a flashcard or buying it on e-shop if it is avaiable.

See above
Well, my answer is the same. I'm not talking about playing the game on a PSP, nor on a Smartphone, I'm talking about playing on DS,
because that's what WiiUBricker said.

I've played Fallout 2 yearly for at least 7 years.

Which is not a problem at all, since it was re-released numerous times.

Which isn't a problem on the DS if you have a DSTwo which has more than enough power to scale the screen properly. Heck, even standard DS Mode has enough juice to emulate the NES.

You maybe right on that. What i am really hoping for is that capcom will port Mega Man 9 and 10 to the 3DS.

If I recall correctly, Japan already has Super Mario USA, so with any luck, that will arrive elsewhere in a few months. Not to mention SMB3.

Stop trolling motherfucker, that's a fucking typo.

If yes, I don't have a problem with that

With several slowdowns.
You were the one who said DS didn't serve to emulate anything.

The NES could be emulated on your average toaster - I've NEVER experienced any slow down on nesDS. Also, you're rude - unless a whole sentence is a typo, I answered your "how many times can you play one game?" question sufficiently. I won't report you... this time. Cool off.

Try playing the old Megamans and you'll see slowdowns.

I said that:

I never payed twice for a game

but there was a typo on the first payed.
I can't see how that was non-purpseful.

If that was, I'm sorry for have been rude.
Let's chill out

Honestly I would WANT to get this if it were not for the 3DS's NES VC having horrible design choices.

They force you to play with a darkened image with smudgy pixels, can't play it at a proper brightness with sharp display.
And you can't remap the buttons, unlike the 3D Classic versions. Mario games aren't comfortable playing on B/A on the SNES, DS or 3DS. Why can't I use Y/B?

I'd rather just emulate the game on my 3DS through any potential homebrew emulator.

Well I have yet to buy NES game on 3DS (I just got a 3DS like two days ago), but I do know that on the Wii's VC, they darken the color on NES games to match how it would appear on an actual NES. I've always liked that aspect, hence why I prefer to play the Virtual Console version of Super Mario Bros. (which I legitimately bought) rather than using the Homebrew Channel + shitty FCEUltraGX NES emulator, which has eye-bleeding inaccurate colors. I would not mind playing SMB1 on my 3DS, but sorry Ninty, I'm not gonna buy the game twice.

WHAAAAAAAAAAAAT???? Thank God you mentioned that, now I'm never buying a NES game on the eShop. Ninty, you may be great sometimes, but some of your decisions are just....bleh

Also looking through the eShop, I'm wondering: Where the hell are the SNES and GBA games? The 3DS is obviously powerful enough to emulate both (GBA proven with Ambassador titles), and the 3DS would be the perfect handheld system to put them on, especially SNES. Who was the dumbass that decided there won't be any SNES games on 3DS Virtual Console? And also, no SGB borders/colors option for Game Boy games that supported it? wtf Nintendo, people have been able to do that with emulators for years, and you guys forgot about your own Super Game Boy?

At this point I have no shame in saying this....can't wait for 3DS homebrew.

Where are people reading that it's legal to emulate games if you own the original? Please show me the actual laws involved.

In reality, almost all emulation is illegal unless the original copyright holder allows it, or the original copyrights have expired, putting the item in question into public domain. Rom Hacks for personal use are technically legal under fair use laws (if you wrote the rom hack yourself, made the rom dump yourself, and own all involved hardware yourself).

I'll admit. I use emulators. But I don't try and delude myself into thinking it's legal just because I own the original game. It's convenience, nothing more.

I believe the way it works is that if you have purchased a game, you have the right to own a single backup in case the original purchased product becomes lost, stolen or unplayable (if the product is sold off or given away the backup becomes illegal and has to be deleted). It is still illegal however to posess two or more backups of the same game, as it indicates that it is being used for unlawful personal benefits.

This law also applies to Digital Media such as DVD's and CD's.

Don't ask me where the law is, but that's what I have heard.

I really want to know if you can map the buttons on newly released VC games. B/A is tiring. I want to get this but B/A its ughz... Y/B is more appropriate for this game or any other VC game.
