i know, but my roms arent named the same, thats why i asked for a easy way to rename my roms :P
Some Handy Re-Naming Apps:
Also, if you want to use the front-only covers for SNES and N64 with WiiFlow to fill in for any missing ones in the full covers, you'll need to rotate them. This could help :

Hi all,

I have recently upgraded to the wiiflow 4.05 r435 (beta r813) - Dec 9, 2012

Now, I can't get my wii or gamecube games to work. Everything else seems to work fine.

When I select wii games, it freezes on the wii flow uploading screen.
When I select the gamecube games, error pops up stating: app_entry is not within the app loader

What have i done wrong?

Thanks,
Gord

Hello! I've been lurking around for a while now and decided to make an account -- mainly because I have something to contribute that might be useful to someone.

First, I'd like to thank mastershoes and everyone else for all the hard work on these wonderful covers.

Second, some background info:
My ROM collections are basically strict versions of No-Intro with USA releases and Europe exclusives (named with GoodTools) -- odd, I know. Personally, the issue isn't with storage space, just with clutter and obscurity. I started out renaming these covers using both FuzzyRename and Bulk Rename Utility (since FuzzyRename doesn't add the ROM extension). I soon realized that the all-inclusive nature of FuzzyRename made for quite a headache, having to go through hundreds of lines of text manually to find duplicate cover lines and delete them. I eventually decided to just write my own program to accomplish this task in order to minimize my own errors in sifting through every file.

Finally, the resulting program:
Download exe (Win x86) (requires .NET Framework) + Source (C#):
http://www.mediafire.com/?68wuqog8u29c4m1

Screens:
romplaysetutilityfiles.png

romplaysetutilityoutput.png

Notes:
Initially, I had never planned on releasing this. I apologize for any bugs in advance.
The utility should be fully compatible with No-Intro and/or GoodTools naming conventions.
The utility doesn't care about file extentions at all.
IE (Practical): "Legend of Zelda, The - A Link to the Past.7z" will match "Legend of Zelda, The - A Link to the Past (USA).png" and create "Legend of Zelda, The - A Link to the Past.7z.png"
IE (Not practical?): "007 - GoldenEye (U).txt" will match "007 - GoldenEye (USA).ini" and create "007 - GoldenEye (U).txt.ini"

ROM selection is not 100% reliable -- GoodTools has some rare naming inconsistencies (versions or other '()' info appearing before the region), not sure about No-Intro.

Regions are prioritized as such:
USA (U)
USA+ ie: (UE)
World (W)
Europe (E) (No [..,...] (No-Intro) or [M#] (GoodTools) language tags)
Europe+ (No language tags)
Europe [En,...]
Europe+ [En,...]
Europe
Europe+

ROMs containing these regex strings are ignored (only applies to Covers if Screen Covers on)
@".*?\[bios\d*?\]",
@".*?\(beta\d*?\)",
@".*?\(demo\d*?\)",

@".*?\[t\d*?\]" //trainer

A couple things I wanted to add but never got around to:
option to generate WiiFlow wfc cache files (not sure if possible)
option to filter with GoodMerge XMDBs
My goal is not to hijack this thread. If anyone has any questions, PM me.

The only reason I didn't start a new thread is because:
I don't know if I'll ever update this, so if anyone wants to take it over and turn it into something more useful -- probably ending up just scrapping all my bad code and starting from scratch, lol -- feel free!

This is a cover thread, not a Wiiflow support thread. Please post in the appropriate forum, thanks.

-Just about Done re-formatting and updating the entire 1st post, with many new additions! There are new covers up for Neo-Geo, CPS1, CPS2, Sega Saturn (WIP), PS1 (DVD covers - WIP), TurboGrafx CD (PCE CD / TurboDuo), and Vectrex. Also, it is now possible to download individual covers. Now, I'm just trying to figure out the best way to organize them orderwise on the page.. perhaps by the generation of the system? Share your thoughts! Merry Christmas & Shiz!

Just FYI, the download pack for PS1 covers has been blocked. :(

Thanks for the heads up, I received a PM about it also, but wasn't able to do anything yesterday. I'll re-upload the set with a different file name tonight and have it up tomorrow for everyone!

Edit: The link should be fixed, 3 people confirmed it working.. Also, the individual download folder is now active!

All I can say is WOW guys, not only is the new format great Mastershoes, it really shows how much work has been put into this whole project in general along with everyone's contributions. Absolutely fantastic.

@TOW420 can't wait till the PS1 CD cover set is uploaded in the OP for now I've d/loaded every individual pack you uploaded. Keep up the great work man, I know it's a labor of love and must just seem like labor sometimes lol.

@all I see the genesis set has like 615 covers but for SNES there's only 443, is there any reason that the SNES isn't getting as much love? I tend to keep more SNES roms then Genesis but I'll probably change things up since there are more covers for Genesis. Since I don't want to keep a lot of the duplicate roms for both Genesis/SNES and would prefer to just keep the game for one system. Do you guys think I should keep those roms for Genesis or SNES? I hear the Genesis was a more powerful system, I'd like to keep it on whichever system the game is better for.

Plus I also need to save space, I have a 1TB HDD and between 419 Wii Games/About 15 GC games/PS1 Games/Sega CD/Movies(FAT Partition) and all the other plugins I'm quickly down to my last gig and a half, although I'm now about to put my PSX games/Movies on my NTFS partition since there's more space there. Still though I'm probably an SNES fan cuz I played tons of RPG's for it lol, but please any feedback is welcome on the SNES vs Genesis roms of the same game, which should I keep?

Sup MassiveRican,

Labor of love is about right with more labor then love lol B-)

Anyways, I just sent the PS1 CD set to MS so he's gonna do his thing to get them up in the OP. Update 7 is also included too cuz I did a few covers then uploaded the set. (Sorry, blame Genesis lol)
Speaking of which, I'm just about finished with the Genesis set too and so far I have over 800 covers with 600 new/recompiled (or pretty damn close to it!) Right now my Genesis Master set folder is well over a Gig full of just covers if that gives you or anyone an idea.

As far as SNES goes, it's my favorite console for RPG's and it was one of the sets I was working on updating until I took a break and starting getting sidetracked with other sets. I plan to get back on that as soon as I finish up PS1 CD covers. Which if anybody can make a list of workable/playable games, please submit it to me so I don't have to test each game to decide whether I need to make a cover for it or not. I can just focus on the covers and get them out much quicker.

As far as your SNES vs Genesis royale goes, I would just keep them both. Usually both games on the systems are different in some way (ex. Mortal Kombat, Aladdin) and I personally like the idea of a full rom set in WF. Just compress them if you hadn't already or if you can, do like me and upgrade to a 3TB hdd, js

Awesome work TOW420 and thanks for the feedback. Yea I'm considering keeping them all anyway screw it right lol, once I move over the PSX games and Movies over to my NTFS partition on my drive I should be ok for space, I still won't have a ton of games for PSX/Sega Saturn like I would like but I'll just swap em' out as necessary. Thanks.

Here's some examples of what's been going on to the Genesis set. 92% of the covers have either been reworked, replaced, constructed from scrap, or cleaned. The results:
Old:

New:

New:

New:

These covers are not the right size so I wouldn't recommend using them until the full set has been released.

You should update the 360 to newest dash before RGHing it yes. But not a big deal if you don't, you can install new dash/avatar updates after. It's just easier to do it auto online before, instead manual offline after.

@BigOnYa I wanted to ask you about your experience with seeing south park. Most of the people a bit younger like my younger brother and cousins that are a few younger than me that saw kids found south park funny because of the curse words, kids at school, that seemed like liking the show on a very basic level.

I could not quite have a in depth discussion of the show.

How was it for you? As an adult. What did you find the most interesting part about it. Did you relate to the parents of the kids and their situations. Was it satires, the commentary on society. The references on celebrities' and pop culture.

I remember seeing the very first episode back in the day, and have watched every episode since. I used to set my VCR to record them even, shows how long ago.

I just like any comedies really, and cartoons have always been a favorite of mine. Family guy, American Dad, Futurama, Cleveland Show, Simpsons - I like them all.

South Park is great cause they always touch on relavent issues going on today, and make something funny out of it.

@BigOnYa were you always up to date on the current events and issues of the time or were there issues that you first found out thru south park

Most of the time yea I knew, I watch and read the news regularly, but sometimes the Hollywood BS stuff, like concerning actors slip by me. I don't follow most Hollywood BS (example: the Kardasians)

  • S @ salazarcosplay:
@BigOnYa there were relevant issues before south park was made, that's why i think a south park prequel/spinoff would be great. Randy and his friends in their child hood

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Yea, like them running in high school together, getting into stuff, and how they got hitched and had kids. And how the town of South Park was back then compared to now. That would be cool to see.
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
    yeah
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@salazarcosplay if they made a prequel, it would still be about current issues, cause it doesn't make sense to make it about stuff that happened 30 years ago that nobody cares about anymore
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    it's too late
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
the older south park episodes about particular issues usually age poorly since the topic is no longer relevant
