You would be able to play DS roms and use emulators for earlier systems (Super Nintendo is about the limit, and even that has limited support)

If you're gonna purchase a flashcart do yourself a favor and get the DSTWO, all instructions can be found on the Supercard site.

You can emulate the Gameboy, Gameboy Color, Gameboy Advance*, NES, SNES* and many more systems.

*only with the Supercard DSTWO.

Please remember to change the cartridge every time you use the 3DS XLs stand by modus (the dstwo needs lot of energy in the standby modus).

+1 on the Supercard DSTwo. It's a must buy, I'm going to get a second one as soon as my R4i Gold 3DS becomes obsolete.

What is the settings for stand by mode if using the dstwo?

Hey, im sorry if this is explained somewhere but i just cant find the info i need.

between the stickied threads, reviews, and dedicated sub-sections by flash kit name, you can honestly say you were unable to find the information you need to get started? honestly?

Just take the cart out, the DSTwo uses battery even if the 3DS is powered off.

i do believe that many are confused by how the ds2 uses up the battery so quickly. it is not draining the battery when the system is shut down, it has no hardware that would do that, no RTC, etc. what it does do is use up the battery quicker when the on-board CPU is engaged. as other kits do not have the on-board cpu, can not decode non-dpg vids, aren't using things like RTS, slow-motion, etc, they do not eat up the battery as quickly.

The problem is that all the info is in the DS section, while people jump to the 3DS section...

Evidently so, as i had to post, trust me i looked i didnt have a clue about all the terminology hence my question. Also i had no idea what a flash kit was.

Rydian has probably answered why i was unable to.

i'm sorry, but i'm going to be a bit of an ass about this one. i did 1 google search for "how to pirate ds games" and instantly got an answer.

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20110222104050AA7IFEa

there is more than enough information there to get you starting conducting your own research. it even links back to gbatemp's "The Beginner's Guide to Nintendo DS Flashcarts". from there you would browse around the site and rather easily find the ds hacking section, info on flash kits, guides for setting them up, etc. if you dug a bit deeper you would have found the reviews

from that same search here are the next 2 results, in order:
http://www.pocketheaven.com/ph/wiki/index.php?title=DS_Piracy
http://www.pcworld.com/article/152678/nintendo_ds_secret.html

i made that search without any terminology. its a straight forward question, how to priate ds games. lets say i was learning all this for the first time, my next search, "what is a ds flash kit" yields even more information.

i can't accept that the reason for these questions is because users are instantly going to the 3ds section. that is their mistake. they should spend 1 afternoon poking around our site. there is more than enough information in the stickies to get anyone started in this hobby, leaving google only for specific answers to unseen problems.

perhaps we need an article about how to properly conduct research. google makes it so easy, putting almost everything you could want to know at your finger tips.

I'm not talking about googling (which tends to get users outdated and wrong information anyways), I'm talking about browsing the site. People have a 3DS, so they jump to the 3DS section.

It's like, if I came here to hack a Wii, I would not go to the Gamecube section to look for info, I'd go to the Wii section. If the Wii section lacked dedicated stickies, I'd post and ask.

This section needs a big sticky redirecting people to the DS flash cart section.
