Thanks for the tip. I've never bought or played a Darksiders game, and now I can get all of it for far less than I make per hour at work. You should post this on Cheap Ass Gamer!

Of course I typically wait until I can get the GOTY/DC editions when they're $20... You know w/ all the add ons for ~$80 less than what "must have it now" folks paid for a full price game and 3-4 add ons. (Yeah I'm cheap and can wait)

But really. Steam's bundles have always been priced to provide incentive to buy the "whole compilation". Those compilations probably sell well and probably better than the single games in a franchise or series. Iit surprises you that they chose to put the better selling product on sale?!? Yeah, you're right! It's madness, WTF were they thinking. <eye roll>

Usually you'd have to pay more for DLC. In this case, they practically pay you for downloading DLC.

DLC is overpriced anyway, so I don't see that as a negative. Ain't my problem.

Steam does this on occasion to entice you to buy more than you want.
Say you only wanted Darksiders 1 but saw that bundle for cheap. You'd buy it, right? You've fallen into their trap and just given Steam more money.
It's a good business move, yo.

I went and bought CS:GO the other day. The next day, they dropped the price another 33%......

And that's why you never buy stuff during a Steam sale unless it's a Daily Deal/Flash Sale/the very last day.

Suprise, suprise - it was cheaper even before the Christmas Sale rolled in - check the prices. The Franchise Pack costs $39,99 and Darksiders 2 alone costs $49,99, it's only natural to expect the Franchise Pack to be cheaper if you deduct 66% from both prices during the sale.

A fun thing, isn't it? Last steam sale, I also saw trine being advertised cheaper as the whole pack (trine 1, 2 & DLC) as cheaper than the wiiU version which would hit stores in Europe two days later. And let's not forget the mass effect trilogy thing.

I think I've also seen darksiders 2 for cheaper, but not by this ridiculous amount.


Should be a fun time being in the marketing department for one of those games and you'll have to explain why the wiiU port fails to deliver...
